Bottled 05/10/13. A russett coloured beer with a grey puddle of head. Infected and acidic. British bottling problems. Pretty poor but then Oxfordshire’s far from a good brewery anyway IMO. Even without the infection not sure what the Christmassy influence is.

Cask (handpump) @ The Bree Louise, 69 Coburg Street, Euston, London, England NW1 2HH.

Clear medium amber orange colour with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, nutty, chocolate, spicy, dark malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, spicy, malt bitter, nutty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121208]

Copper brown without a head. It has an acutely hopped aroma, giving it an almost spirit like smell. Not high on flavour but a slightly seasonally winter texture.

500ml bottle from Morrisons, Ayr - amber brown with a slight haze, thin bubbly off-white head, patchy lacing, aromatic malty aroma, caramel, woody, not quite balanced, astringent bitter finish

Bottled, 500ml from Morrison’s in Banbury. Orange gold with short white head. Slight cabbage on the nose, some silage followed by a boiled vegetable note in the flavour, grainy, really not so good. Quite a disappointment.

Bottle (500ml from £1.50 from Morrisons Supermarket):
Pretty off-putting aroma from this one, some strange malts hitting you right away that seem quite earthy with some biscuit or cereal coming through along with them.
A medium copper colour with a thin bubbly head that turns to a slightly patchy lacing after a couple of minutes; it is slightly off white in colour too.
Some very weird malts and a strange, almost skunk like taste following this. The taste isn’t much better than the smell with a sort of nutty and biscuit taste. This one was a real struggle to drink though and just didn’t taste quite right.
Medium body, slightly spicy with some skunk and strange, unidentifiable bitter finish and medium carbonation.

Another very poor Christmas beer. This one just taste bad and had a very strange malt and biscuit taste that didn’t go down well at all.

Malty. Both on the nose and taste maybe a slight orange and spice taste. Ordinary. Not bad though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle - copper coloured body, a gush of a white head which has just gone in the time it took to type this opening. Nose is cereal, not much else, a bit sweet in the nostrils too. A bit thin, with a bitterness and that cereal coming through again, not too pleasant this time. No, I think this is a sub-average bitter with very little to do with Christmas... I’ve got about a dozen bottles of various Belgian Xmas brews to put this to shame.
