Fairly crisp dark amber orange, small beige head fades. 3+ Pleasant malty aroma has an English quality, mild caramel biscuity notes. Flavour is malty up front but surprisingly dry, with a mineral water like quality to it. The Caramel and biscuity malts of the aroma are secondary here, mild bitterness. Muted tea like notes in the finish and aftertaste. Average to light bodied palate. Just okay. Bottle from England via Mabel’s brother

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chinchill (660) - South Carolina, USA - FEB 24, 2013
500ml bottle served in a Samuel Smith nonic. Pours a nearly clear amber hue with a decent sized head that soon reduces to a partial coat. Leaves good lacing.
Soft aroma of lightly toasted malt with hints of caramel and hops. Both the caramel malts and the hops come through stronger in tasting, with most of the hop note in the finish.
Medium body with very soft carbonation.
O: designed as a tasty sessionable brew, this hits the mark. Good balance in both aroma and flavor. Not much complexity or distinctiveness, however.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 hotstuff (3350) - Indiana, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Backlog rating 12-13-2008 (Bottle shared by jsquire) The pour is a small white head with poor retention, transparent body, visible carbonation, one ring of lacing, and a gold hue. The aroma is hoppy, sour and hints of fruit. The flavor is hoppy, bitter and malty. The palate is tingly and this is a medium bodied Bitter beer. Overall, try as I might, I just could not find a lot that I liked about the taste of this beer. It just did not leave me with a good opinion of it as the flavors did not come together for me.
