12oz or maybe 33cl bottle at Toki Underground in DC. Pours a lightly hazy light orange with some creamy white head. Nose is earthy, lemony, light malt, some lime, a little toasted grain. Flavor is the same, toasted grain, lemon, earthy, tropical. Medium bodied, dry, citrus refreshing finish. Went perfectly with my fatty, porky, spicy, herbal ramen dish.

Very light amberish color, frothy head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty, citrus, light resin. Flavor is a nice hoppy brew with some yeasty/malt notes that balance it well. This paired well with my Japanese food.

Rated Apr 2008.
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy dark yellow to light amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, apricot), lightly yeasty (dough), with a note of dried mango.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Quite a nice, fruity, balanced IPA. Not over the top at all...hoppy but not in a brutish way. Good stuff.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 reebtogi (3266) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 7, 2011
330ml bottle listed at 5.5%ABV poured a golden color with some floaties and 2 fingers of white head which left some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is mostly citrus. Taste is citrusy with a malty sweetness and a hoppy bitter finish. Good carbonation and a medium body. A very well done IPA which was really tasty.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 marcus (5010) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 22, 2011
Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours hazy copper with a thin beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt toffee-like flavor with grapefruit bitterness. Lots of flavor for a relatively low abv.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 DYCSoccer17 (3012) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 30, 2011
330mL bottle purchased at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Looks to be a best by date of 7/23/2012. The aroma on this is spicy, and herbal, with some grassy hints as well. Pretty spicy. Mildly hazy copperish colored body with a smallish off-white head. Pretty rapidly dissipating. Starts creamy and pretty malty. A bit sweet and sugary in the middle, but not cloying--more of a doughiness. Finishes with spicy, herbal hop flavors and a restrained bitterness. This is a very drinkable IPA. Probably closer to an APA by American standards, though.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (8997) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 28, 2011
Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Pours light amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of resin over a nice caramel backbone. Near med body. Flavor is floral, resin and citrus over mild caramel. Goes a bit bready. It’s rather lushly floral towards the finish. Excellent and tasty ale.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jonno (2011) - JAPAN - APR 6, 2011
Can’t believe I never rated this - Thanks for the heads up Dasilky. Had this so many times on tap and in bottle. The mainstay of any Japanese craft beer bar. Lots of pine and citrus. Great looking - lovely lacing. Full bodied for such a low ABV. They do all kinds of funky things to this beer (Dry hopping, barrel aging), but I prefer it in it’s original, solid as a brick shitter state. Tears in the snow indeed.
