Botella at a local family/friends gathering in Obatake. Unclear thin golden colour, medium white head, ok lacing. Aroma of wheat and some yeast with bit spice, on the mild side. Ok mouthfeel. Flavour is fresh with wheat and some spice to it along with bit yeast and fruit. Easy drinkable. Mild weizen / wit.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home bought at the brewery shop. Clear blond colour, small white head. Aroma is wheaty, flour, herbal, bit of lemon. Very much Belgian style which wasn’t what I was expecting. Bit fruity, light berry smell. Taste is wheaty again, nice bitterness, something sweet too. Bit of cherry there as well. Quite interesting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Crazy bottle thanks to Travlr at Izakaya Seki off U St. Clear, straw pour. Decent white foam. Good lace. Sugary grenadine nose with some sake like funk. Taste is sweet cherry, sugar cube, harder starchy finish. Good though. Very refreshing and interesting. Lots of potential for Japanese beers- will be excited to try more of them in the future.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Yamaoka.
Medium gold color with an orange tint, cloudy, medium head. Tangy, slightly bitter aroma, citrus, oranges, banana, spices. Clean, slightly hoppy. Tangy, citrus flavor with bananas and spice. Light and spritzy. Orange. Somewhere between a Bavarian weizen and a Belgian Wit, but without any additives. Interesting and refreshing. Crisp and clean, but without being too sweet or too spicy. Very naturally good. If there is a weakness, it is lacking in malt a bit, and slightly astringent in the finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thick white head over cloudy white color. Orange peel and coriander in the nose. Thick mouth. Much fuller than other wits with a bit of orange and coriander character along with some bready notes. Finish is extremely refreshing, but has an odd roasted peanut linger in the aftertaste, which is different.
