Ozujsko Pivo, a blond beer, is Croatia’s leading brand, dating from 1893. The selection of hops and barley gives Ozujsko (5.2% ABV) a refreshing taste and fine bitter aroma. It should be served at 3°C with compact foam.

Note: Dropped from 11.5° and 5.2% to 11° and 5.0% in late 2009/early 2010.

From bottle outside Zagreb main railway station while booking a hostel in a late, rainy evening using the tourist wifi. With TO 06.10.15. Ratebeer was blocked because of "alcohol content". If not, this would have been my rating number 2.000. Clead pale straw colour. Dimiminishing off-white head. Wet cardboard and corn. Waterish.

Poured from a can purchased in Croatia into a tall glass to drink. The beer had a bubbly rich gold color with a large foamy white head with decent retention, cling, and lacing. The aroma featured grainy and earthy hops with some barley malt and bits of straw. Its taste was mostly a bitter grainy and earthy blend with light malt. It had average carbonation with a semi-thick mouthfeel and dryness.

Bottle at Fife, Split, Croatia. Very malty aroma with faint hop notes. Pours thin golden colored with a good white head with good retention and lacing. Starts with good malty flavors with a light body. Finishes smooth and refreshing with malty flavors. Nice brew for a relaxing dinner in split.
