3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Big beige head. Clear brown body with strong carbonation. Earthy
dusty rye aroma with sugary mineraly notes. Dryish roasty mineraly
taste with earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel.
Dry-acidic earthy roasty bubblegum aftertaste with mineraly caramelly
mealy notes. Mealy flavour lingers. Interesting. It’s drinkable,
very different, but harmonic. The mealiness is really the biggest
issue. (0.5l bottle, from somewhere in Riga.)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Opaque dark brown with a strong beige head. Roasted malt, bread, slight hint of sour. Maybe some nuts, not sure. Lovely bready-biscuity flavour with a balanced bitterness. Warming bitter and roasted malt finish. This is a mighty fine autumn beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours nice and clear with about 1 finger of slightly brown foam. Color is dark brown with a tint of red. On the nose you get some caramel, bread, hazelnuts and slight vanilla. When you get it in your mouth it has a medium body and dry modest bitterness. You get a lot of bread and roasted malts flavors in the aftertaste. A nice bitter that would go well with some rustic food.

Tap (ALEhouse, Riga)
Messy mash, dirty but grainy aroma. Big malty body, a touch dusty, some husks. Simple but decent brown bitter.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap. Hazy chestnut color. Small size, off-white head, stays. Not much of aroma, but caramel and sourness are detectable. Caramel, grains, toffee, mild minerals in taste. Nice roasty bitter aftertaste. It doesn’t feel fresh. Maybe slightly gone off.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thanks to Elisabeth and Stefan for sharing this one, 500ml bottle airborne from Riga. Nice label design/artwork. Cloudy dark orange coloured body topped by a low grey head. Minimal lacing. Modest aroma of nuts, earth-like malts, mid-sweet. Brown malty flavours with a caramel scent supported by a touch of herbal hops. Yeasty hints to a malt-fruity ending – a bit jam like. Medium minus bodied. Alright, not more (session in Tromsø 09.01.2014).

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice aroma though not very strong (caramel, bread). Brown with a white head. Medium bitterness but also slightly sweet and a little sour, very interesting and good combination. It is lively beer with long bitter (but not too strong) finish.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours unclear brown with soapy thick beige top, diminishing fast, no lasing.
Aroma- weak notes of malt, dark bread, a bit roast touch, almost none in intensity, pitty.
Taste is not sweet nore sour, only empty darker malt bitter. No long finish, medium body, min to light dry finish, watery to compote texture.
I’m indeed dissapointed cause for 2.5 euros I can get much better brews, this one is too nothing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice brown ale. Again. Nothing fancy, but OK balanced, decent brew. Quite malty, caramel malty, nutty with decent hops for balance, bit fruity. Sweetish with bittersweet bit dry finish. Lingering light sour, but not as defect. Could grab theese to enjoy ice hockey evening with good quality not expensive brew
