Since 2001, contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio), as Pabst no longer owns a brewery of its own.

Established in Milwaukee in 1844, this is the original Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Nature’s choicest products provide its prized flavor. Only the finest of hops and grains are used. Selected as America’s Best in 1893.

Every proper hipster’s drink. Light, easy to drink. Nothing special in terms of aroma or palate, but taste is predictable and light. Excellent for any hot day or evening out with friends. An excellent go to.

DATE TASTED: December 23, 2015... GLASSWARE: 22 oz. pilsener...OCCASION: toasting another Cavs win... APPEARANCE: ultra clear, light golden body with visible swirls of effervescence; the head is spongy, thick and bursting with bubbles of white; hedgerows of lacing is left behind; ... AROMA:immediate apple/pear hit the nostril, along with the awkwardness of oats, hay and beefy biscuit...PALATE: soft, thin, and absolutely evasive in its presence--swift to its end, and the end is bitter; oily with flat carbonation...TASTE: oats and soft malts create a woody, slightly metallic water-heavy profile; otherwise, as soft and nondeScript as 24 ounces of beverage can get...a salty cracker sifts its way in as the can drains...OVERALL: as far as blue-color working cans go, one could do much worse than Pabst...I know my father’s generation laments the loss of the "old" recipe, but this offering does its job by refreshing without restraint...easy-drinking to the point of slamming....a good-looking can, worth mentioning

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2015 Little light, but you can?t beat the price (Usually, been drifting every closer to premium macros lately, sadly), and I prefer it to the big three macros taste wise. Of course, National Bohemian is better tasting and less expensive than them all if you live in the right area for it. Otherwise, Pabst is a good cheap choice if you need to save some dough. Tastes a bit like a washed out Natty Boh. Nice retro 1950s type imagery of people and families in various settings on bottles right now- may not be the case by the time you read this, though, limited time thing, I think, they weren’t there before.

This is my favorite of all the mass produced beer. The price is right and it basically is a poor man’s drink. Gets little advertising but in the pinch I occasionally enjoy this. It is not great overall, but beats the pants off of Budweiser

You need to compare apples to apples, here. Pabst is in the Budweiser type class of beers and in my mind, is clearly superior. Good flavor and tastes great out of a can when poured into a frosty. Crisp and nice finish. You cannot try to compare Pabst with craft lagers....

Copenhagen 14/11 2015. 35,5 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. Big blue ribbon on the label. Looks like they think that they deserve some kind of medal for this beer. Pours clear pale yellow with white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam with some lacing. Aroma is malty sweet and apart from that pretty neutral. Low carbonation and watery palate. Taste is sweet malt and corn. Rather bland actually. Not as horrible as I thought when I saw the average rating. But they do not get any medals for this.

Originally rated on 2/6/08- PBR brings back some great memories of cutting class and going swimming with my friends. Overall its not that bad a beer, people assume since its inexpensive its not good but it beats the hell outta bud, miller and coors.

Sweet, no aroma, watery, clear body and big white head. Draft at real sports bar in Toronto with blue Jays. Top points for atmosphere!
