Had Bottle at the Map Room Bar in Cleveland Poured into Pint Glass a: light straw color fair amount of caronation. Little Head that reduces very quicly s: smells ok, malt not much hops. One of the better smelling macros t: not as watered down as other macros. Nothing that stands out too much in my mind, just a average solid beer that is better than Bud or MGD. m&d: medium bodied beer with a good amount of carbonation. Easy to drink and a great session beer. A good choice over the other BMC crap.

3oz pour at BJCP class

Aroma: light corn, no hops, apple, and slight hint of pepper

Appearance: pale straw, clear, white head

Taste: Corn-like falvor, sweet, subtle spicy (noble?) hops, clean and dry finish

Palate: light body, average carbonation, slight carbonic bite

Overall: Hard to believe that Iíve been drinking for more than 20 years and this is my first PBR (yes, Iíve had lots of other beer of this style but not PBR). A very clean lager with minimal hops and clean malts. Good example of the style, drinkable, but nothing that Iíd purchase if there were better alternatives. Overall, I donít think itís nearly as bad as everyone rates it because its a good beer for the style, just not a great beer compared to other styles.

This has almost 2400 ratings on RB, and today is the first time Iíve heard of it. 355ml bottle BB Aug 2015, 4.6%. Brewed in the US of A since 1844. Clear yellow, sparkling, small foamy white head leaves full lacing. Aroma is light and musty, cardboard box, new shoes, polish. Body is medium, quite foamy, some spritzy carbonation. Taste is very light - sodawater with boiled sweets, earth, potato peel and some solvent. Itís OK if you can see past the solvent.

A regular lager to go along with a meal with friends. Not much to point out on a rather simple beer.

Run of the mill, but still better than most of its kind. Slightly metallic taste. No aroma.

PBR is a decent light beer to have if there arenít any others. Itís quite lacking in flavor although it does pour similar to a Coors Light for color and carbonation.

Donít care if this beer is an icon. If youíre going to drink this type of beer there are definitely better options. No aroma with the occasional whiff of corn or cereal. Light golden and fizzy. Lightweight and heavily carbonated. Grassy and filler tasting. Like drinking Wonderbread.

From memory, not quite as good as Bud overall. I wonít waste money on this now. For the style, it deserves a good rating.

Can into pilsner glass. No aroma. Mild to flavorless and inoffensive - unless you expect flavor in your beer. Quaffing beer for a hot day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I thought I liked this beer as well as any domestic lager so I brought home a 6 pack. Compared to two other competitors the PBR had much stronger corn and alcohol taste/aroma. Americaís best in 1893...hmm. Where has it ranked since then for the last 122 years? How was this #1 ranking determined? I would imbibe this again during a zombie apocalypse as a source of life-sustaining water.
