Since 2001, contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio), as Pabst no longer owns a brewery of its own.

Established in Milwaukee in 1844, this is the original Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Nature’s choicest products provide its prized flavor. Only the finest of hops and grains are used. Selected as America’s Best in 1893.

Drank from a can. Appearance is clear golden with a very small white head. Aroma is yeast, grain and musty basement. Mouth tastes like wet crackers and cardboard. My go to cheap beer.

Bottle. A quid, from the shop that was called Rythmn & Booze. Clear gold. Lovely, thick, lasting, bubbly, bright white head. Aroma is corn. Some lemon. Beery spew. Some grassy hop. Not bad, barring the spew bit. Taste is dry, with an artificial feeling sweetness. Turns metallic, and fairly unpleasant. More of the artificial thing at the end. Not nice.

Pours a golden straw color. Pretty nice head. Pretty good lacing.

Aroma is pretty heavy on corn and something else. Smells pretty welcoming.

Tastes pretty good. Better than most macros. Tasting corn and some hops.

Mouthfeel is dry, but not overly dry. It is very smooth, and very clean.

Overall, it’s better than most. I think I prefer this over Bud and probably most others, including those I haven’t rated.

Canned. Aroma of corn, wet cardboard and sickly sweet malt. Flavor of pure corn starch.

4/16/15 (Can) - Light pour, no carbonation, head or aroma. Very thin texture and minimal taste. Smooth going down.

I often get a 40 of this beer (or two) to unwind after a bad day. This is one of those beers that gets such a bad rap, and I don’t know why. Look at the price man, it’s not a craft beer. This beer is directly competing against ones like Bud and Miller, not Fat Tire or Guinness. Being it’s "level" it is waaaaay better than Budweiser anything, and similarly way better than Miller. It’s refreshing, it’s got a taste to it, and it’s stupidly drinkable. I don’t think it deserves the torturing it gets. Seriously, way better than Coors, Bud, Miller, etc...

From a long neck bottle at Oceanss Bistro in Avon NC. Aroma? Who nose? Flavor of assorted grains. And to think this was one of my faves in high school. Now it has some cachet among craft beer deniers.

Poured from a luke warm 16 ounce can into a warm, clean 16 oz. mug. I had a couple of these here pbr’s the other day w/some compadres and forgot how a few will do when all else fails or just wanting a change of pace. this used to be the only beer served on the california zephyr in the bar car, way back in the last century. i wasn’t yet old enough to buy it on land, but i could on that ol’train.

What a delight! Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) makes me want to throw on a pair of jorts, hop in an airboat, and shoot me some gators while I pound a few of these bad boys! On the other hand, it certainly has the sophistication of a beer you can order at a black tie event. Best part about PBR is it tastes just as good on the way up as it did on the way down!
