Since 2001, contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio), as Pabst no longer owns a brewery of its own.

Established in Milwaukee in 1844, this is the original Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Nature’s choicest products provide its prized flavor. Only the finest of hops and grains are used. Selected as America’s Best in 1893.

PBR is not a beer you want to drink out of a glass. The appearance is essentially that of urine. But, to me, PBR is the Pepsi/Coke of Beers. It's cheap, it tastes great (for the price), and it gets the job done. PBR is not a drink you offer your friends at a sit-down dinner. But it is a brew you can kick back at the bar, ball game, or at the campsite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pale mass lager, little aroma or flavour, not a great beer, but not terrible.

A pale lager with white (low) head. Aroma is malty, yeasty. Taste is light bitter sweet. A bit like water.

On a positive note, it’s better than Coors or Bud Light. There are beers that I’d drink ice cold while driving the lawnmower. This is not one of those beers. At 5% ABV, it’s not even good for getting hammered, if that’s your goal.

Pours a straw yellow color. Aroma and taste are unenjoyable and ice water is more rewarding.

Aroma of corn, sweet malt. Taste is sweet sweet malt and hints of corn leading to a sweet finish where a slight note of straw appears. Too sweet and also leaves a strange aftertaste that tags along the rest of the day.

Clear yellow, white lacing lasting foam head. Quite normal pale aroma and taste, good refreshing. (Huntsville 201505)

For an american light beer, this is as good as it gets... I’m reading all of these negative reviews and why are people comparing this to the best IPA’s, Belgiun’s, Pale’s, Stouts and Porters.... C’mon people, we’re talking about a light american beer. Very smooth, easy drinking beer with a smooth finish. I will have a PBR on any occasion!!

It’s sold as beer, so presumably it’s brewed. There’s even alcohol in it. The artwork is not so bad, but otherwise it’s awful.
