Look, some would argue that taste, appearance, flavor, and palate should be the marks by which one measures a beer. And while I would agree, in most cases, Pabst Blue Ribbon is another story. Pabst Blue Ribbon has something else that most beers don’t- a really good name.

24oz thanks to Fergus at level 42. It pours clear yellow with a massive white head. The aroma is paper, sweetcorn, cornbread, light sulphur, white bread and not much else. The taste is crisp, grassy, white bread, soda water and touch of corn with a dry finish. Light - medium body and high, foamy carbonation. Aroma isn’t great. Taste is pretty light, so at least you can chug a lot...

Poured from a 16 OZ can into a pint glass. PBR is the "white trash chic" trend beer today. I have always liked it. It has a great hop flavor and is very smooth.

Beer #2 from the LCBO gift bucket a co-worker gave me (thanks for that by the way, my revenge will not be pretty) Clear gold pour, fast fizzy head, a tad bit of lace. Mainly hay in the aroma, a bit of corn, some actual malt presence! Hay, some bready malt, a bit grassy. Watery body with some malty aftertaste.. Begrudging credit where it’s due, it slays most of the other blando’s easily. Now where the hell are my monocle and tight black jeans?

Drank straight from a bottle. Has an aroma of bread malts and light earthiness. Flavor is bread malts. Mostly bland, but crisp and highly carbonated.

Aroma discreto, cor dourada e espuma branca. Sabor marcante dos maltes. Boa para uma cervejada.

Maybe a little corn in the aroma after the pour to a foamy head that quickly dissipates. A little corn sweetness and hop bite, but not much of either. I recall my mid-1980s softball team went to a bar after games, everyone threw 2 bucks on the bar and we drank PBR until the singles were gone. Except they never were. Pabst was inexpensive even in the last century.
