1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Draft at the Joliet Jackhammers game. Pale and uninviting. Essentially no aroma, a slight skunkiness. Taste is actually a bit bitter, which is odd considering how light it is. Sorta nasty aftertaste. No thanks.

This has almost 2400 ratings on RB, and today is the first time I’ve heard of it. 355ml bottle BB Aug 2015, 4.6%. Brewed in the US of A since 1844. Clear yellow, sparkling, small foamy white head leaves full lacing. Aroma is light and musty, cardboard box, new shoes, polish. Body is medium, quite foamy, some spritzy carbonation. Taste is very light - sodawater with boiled sweets, earth, potato peel and some solvent. It’s OK if you can see past the solvent.

A regular lager to go along with a meal with friends. Not much to point out on a rather simple beer.

Run of the mill, but still better than most of its kind. Slightly metallic taste. No aroma.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
PBR is a decent light beer to have if there aren’t any others. It’s quite lacking in flavor although it does pour similar to a Coors Light for color and carbonation.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Don’t care if this beer is an icon. If you’re going to drink this type of beer there are definitely better options. No aroma with the occasional whiff of corn or cereal. Light golden and fizzy. Lightweight and heavily carbonated. Grassy and filler tasting. Like drinking Wonderbread.

From memory, not quite as good as Bud overall. I won’t waste money on this now. For the style, it deserves a good rating.

Can into pilsner glass. No aroma. Mild to flavorless and inoffensive - unless you expect flavor in your beer. Quaffing beer for a hot day.

I thought I liked this beer as well as any domestic lager so I brought home a 6 pack. Compared to two other competitors the PBR had much stronger corn and alcohol taste/aroma. America’s best in 1893...hmm. Where has it ranked since then for the last 122 years? How was this #1 ranking determined? I would imbibe this again during a zombie apocalypse as a source of life-sustaining water.

473 ml can from LCBO, served child in a tulip glass. Clear straw with a full, bright white head. Clean, lightly grainy with light grassy hops. Medium light body and fairly full carbonation. Like the nose...light grains and faint grassy hops, a touch of wet cardboard, possibly; dry with minimal bitterness and a clean finish. Good ol’ PBR.
