2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ccex (826) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 1, 2011I am a jazz piano player, and this was the favorite beer of Art Tatum, the god of jazz pianists. He died in 1956, decades before craft beers became hip. He was known for playing a few sets in the evening, and going to after-hours sessions until well after dawn, playing miraculously fast and inventively with harmonic substitutions while drinking this. I spent a few decades in poverty before I could afford to develop a taste for quality beers, and have tried all the cheap ones. PBR remains my favorite cheap everyday macrobrew. Yes, it has almost no personality, but a clean after taste which asks for the next one when you’re working in the wee hours.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Christian (9847) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 19, 2013
Golden with a lasting white head. Aroma of sweet malts with plenty of DMS. Sweetish, pretty thin flavour. Inoffensive, but pretty decent industrial lager for the man who prefers a beer that goes down smooth and fast.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 ChiGuy68 (126) - Illinois, USA - JUN 18, 2013
Tasted from a 12oz. can. It poured a clear, light golden color with a thin, white, quickly dissipating head. Not much aroma or taste. What little taste it did have was bitter (and not in a good way). I drank this in the distant past because it was cheap and 5%, but after rating it I will leave it in the past.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 batneil (131) - - JUN 18, 2013
Lives up to its reputation for being totally flavourless. Very pale colour, too fizzy, not much going for it at all.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Maverick34 (1733) - New York, USA - JUN 17, 2013
Canned - its natural state, from a barber shop on India st. Not as horrid as some others in this category.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Sigmund (4280) - Tau, NORWAY - JUN 17, 2013
At last - the legendary PBR is mine! 355 ml Export version, 4.5% ABV, from Superbrugsen, Ans, Denmark. Pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Sweetish candy aroma, some grassy notes. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour? What flavour? Tastes mainly like carbonated water, just a hint of sweetness reveals that it is not. Papery and "empty" finish. Gets one point for not having any offensive "side flavours".
2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Olivej (10) - SWEDEN - JUN 17, 2013
Blue ribbon hör till den ljusa lagrets era. Ingenting speciellt med denna. Kul att dricka i goda vänners lag och ute på landet. men inget att sitta och njuta över
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 4TBone (1) - USA - JUN 16, 2013 does not count
A beer for the man who prefers a beer that goes down smooth and fast. If you enjoy sipping a pale ale this is not for you. However, if you enjoy knocking back a few and having some fun I think we have a winner.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 NosirIwont (1733) - Aalborg Vestby, DENMARK - JUN 16, 2013
Bottle. 4.5%. Best before 27.01.14. Pours a clear golden/yellow with a diminishing white head. Sweetish aroma, cereals, hops and a light rubber note. Warming brings out a milky note. Flavour is sweetish and mildly bitter, with a cereal note. A light cardboard note as it warms. Dry, slightly tart finish, mildly bitter and with lingering hop and grassy notes. Overall not particularly good, but not quite as bad as I had expected. 16.06.13.
