2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Uneventful fizzy yellow lager from Bolivia. Straw urine color with foamy white small head. Bubbly and sharp metallic and slight smokey taste. Another pretty boring lager from a cool country not known for its beer

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: MAR 25, 2007 (in can, supermarket in Chile).
The caramel and the grass strike strong. A golden color, but with gray and white parts, quite pale. In the palate is clear and frothy. Has very good body and very good texture. I believe that it is a good beer, but quite watery.

Clear yellow color, sparkling with fast bubbles. Frothy white head, medium size. Aroma is almost unnoticeable, but not unpleasant, mostly of cereals. Flavor is weak, mostly bitter with some sweet notes. Very light bodied and well carbonated.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
One of the better Bolivian beers. Nice golden colour with an average head. Malty aroma with some flowery touch to it. Good mouthfeel. Flavour of malt and a bit sweetnessand a little nice bitter end.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Sweet and skunky like an ebola burping monkey. I have no idea why I said that. It does smell sweet (honey) and skunky (Mephitis mephitis-skunk-origin-glands) with a dose of old book pages to give the odor, I mean aroma, some range. Very pale gold with a lasting and fluffy white head that laces well. This is almost tasteless which would have been nice, but throught he middle and finish there is tobacco, some faint honey and grains. That tobacco note actually gives it some points for standing out, but sadly it tastes of chewing tobacco spit and that’s hard to warm up to. Are country rating really worth this much beer I don’t like? No they are not, but I’ll continue to freaking do it cause I want to have had a beer from Honduras.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pale yellow with a fluffy white head. Typical pale lager smell - dusty malt and wet dog. Not as bad on tasting, with some shallow bitterness; a bit dry with a touch of crisp lemon citrus. Bugger all depth. Not terrible, but nothing away from the standard.

2.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Oh no! I smell urine, could it be...nah. Yet another bland, uninspiring lager with faint malty taste and highly carbonated. Had this ice-cold, and it is refreshing during the summer. One final note, my 6-pack’s best before date was back on December 19, 2005!

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Undated bottle, honestly, I’m not even sure. Drinking it would suggest maybe 1-2 years, but that’s just a guess. Anyways, consumed on 8/4/06.
Still a pretty strong pour. Large, white head recedes steadily to cover, with minimal lacing and an absolute flurry of large bubbles rising. Dulled-bronze/amber body is quite dark for a pale lager. Protein break looks to be left on the bottom, so it must be a fairly aged sample, I guess.
Nose is a touch of apples, followed by crisp lager yeast bite and light base malt honey. No hops, bitterness or otherwise, with some minerals and spring water. But not even a touch of DMS. Some oxidation, perhaps? Giving it the benefit of the doubt, for being quite old, assumedly, it’s actually a fairly pleasant smell and must be pretty crisp and dry when young.
In the flavor, I’m astounded to find, smoke??? Definitely unmistakeable phenols associated with Bamberg smoked malts. And that touch of earthy, dry, smoked malt. Not sure how that got in there, and it’s more phenol than actual smoke. Could be just a mix of caramel and oxidation. But pretty stale and with low carbonation in the texture despite the flurry of bubbles. No hop bitterness, some yeast minerals and no alcohol. Very not-pale-lager-like. Definitely some chemicals in there (it says Antioxydant 122 on the recipe bill). More like a california common or amber ale. I’d like to try a fresh bottle, and in all fairness, I certainly will.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
I believe this one pops my Bolivia cherry. Bottle from Super Saver. Pale gold pour with 1-finger creamy white head. Aroma of hopcitrus, pale malt, some grassy lemon. The flavor is harsh, definitely an odd metallic citrusy tart flavor that I’ve not encountered before, and hope not to again.

1.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
I know I’ve said this with some of these recent swills, but this one poured with really the least color I’ve ever seen. There was a somewhat stable pillowy head that kep this one from being totally ugly. The aroma was of sweet grains and corn. The flavor was sweet and spicey, the latter very unexpected. Unfortunately, rather than just being your every day corn swill, this thing had a nasty band-aid like aftertaste that killed it. Mouthfeel was about average for the style, a touch thin.
