Pint at the brewpub. pours copper with a white head. The aroma is not what I’ve come to expect from these Californian IPA’s. This one smells like wet grain with sour bread and metallic notes. I get some grapefruit bite in the nose as well as the flavor. It’s bitter and grassy but also with a plastic twinge and some lactic stuff going on. Meh.

Draft: Sampler. In San Diego, CA this won’t do. It need to work out, desperately.

On tap. Light amber pour (clear), white head. Piney hops, citrus, sweet malt, hint of caramel, slightly reisnous. Best one I tried there.

On tap at PBAH. Pretty good IPA - fresh tasting and very piney/resinous hoppage. Nice flavor that leaves a floral resin on your palate for a while. Pours hazy golden amber with white head.

On-tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy, light amber with a moderate white head, specks of lace. Smells subdued, nice citrusy hoppy with a nice, balanced, malty backbone. Tastes pretty basic citrusy, piney and hoppy with a lingering earthy malt sweetness. Again with the dishwater, lots of lingering dishwater flavor. Medium body, good carbonation.
