2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20Pint at the brewpub. pours copper with a white head. The aroma is not what I’ve come to expect from these Californian IPA’s. This one smells like wet grain with sour bread and metallic notes. I get some grapefruit bite in the nose as well as the flavor. It’s bitter and grassy but also with a plastic twinge and some lactic stuff going on. Meh.

On tap at the Pacific Beach Ale House. Poured a white head with some lacing. Good aroma of hops. Much hops in the flavor too. Decent

Draft. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Nice grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit andlight malt flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. OK bitterness. Grapefruit and light caramel lingers with light earth.

Draft at the brewpub. Nose of pine and hemp. Clear orange with a big glass lacing off white head. Flavor is moderately bitter with pine and light caramel. Nice deep bitter finish.

On tap. Light amber pour (clear), white head. Piney hops, citrus, sweet malt, hint of caramel, slightly reisnous. Best one I tried there.

From the tap poured dark amber with a fair amount of head. Bitter hoppy flavor with a lingering finish.

On tap at PBAH. Pretty good IPA - fresh tasting and very piney/resinous hoppage. Nice flavor that leaves a floral resin on your palate for a while. Pours hazy golden amber with white head.

On-tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy, light amber with a moderate white head, specks of lace. Smells subdued, nice citrusy hoppy with a nice, balanced, malty backbone. Tastes pretty basic citrusy, piney and hoppy with a lingering earthy malt sweetness. Again with the dishwater, lots of lingering dishwater flavor. Medium body, good carbonation.
