Commercial Description:
The Stout of Russian Czars! Brewed strong (10 % alcohol) to withstand the long trip to Moscow from Great Britain. Black, full bodied and very warming.

Tap @ brewpub: Inky black with a light brown head and sticky lacing. The aroma is overwhelmingly sweet, too sweet -- all alcohol. It has weird flavors of a mix of bitter coffee, fermaldahyde, urine and alcohol. This has the potential of being good, but yuck.

Had the small glass of this and really enjoyed it. Jet black and thin tan head that laced the glass beautifully. Coffee comes thru loud and clear. Reminds me of Dark Lord...not as good, but at least you can get it! The don’t always have this one on tap, but is worth it if there.

Sampler at the Brew pub, 3/31/07. Nitro. Porus black with a light tan head. Teh aroma is big with notes of coffee and mlat. The taste is really quite nice with a rich sweet coffee and chocolate feeeling. This beer is the best of the buch for Pacific Coast, and its damn light for a 10% brew.

On tap in Oakland. Very dark black, creamy beer with cocoa and coffee flavors. Smooth and not strong alcohol. Not the most complex of the type I’ve had but very tasty, a great intro to the style for my wife. Very nice -- I wish I could have this more often.

Black black body with tan head that leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, cocoa, coffee, some roast, cream. Taste is moderately sweet, coffee, roast, light alcohol burn. Creamy full body.
