Mar 3, 2007 Dark cherry red. Flat w/ no head at all. Minty floral aroma...smells like this Czech liquor called Becherovka(floral with a bit of anise). First impression of the taste is a bit of chocolate mint! Slight alcohol kick...almost a medicinal taste, but not in a bad way. Very different, but I love it.

Feb 11, 2007 Tap: Light head and lacing. Amber color. Nose of fruit and esters, strong grape and raspberry notes along with the citrusy hops and caramel malts. Sweet and strong, syruppy. Finishes strong. Good and fairly smooth.

Apr 17, 2006 Updated: Apr 18, 2006 Draught Chestnut-amber, no head. Very hoppy & portwine aroma; alcoholic nose, fruity & grapey. Lots of ethanol and higher alcohols. Cardemom. Quite bitter taste, with sweet, fruity, vinous and foremost alcoholic undertones, cakey. Chewy mouthfeel, very full bodied. Definitely good, but it seems a bit just want too much to BE a barley wine "If we don’t meet al 35 style requirements plus American hops, we’re not gonna make it"...
