I had this beer in Mexico near where it was produced. Cracked open a bottle at the beach. When put in context, the beer is not as bad as it would have been if it had been served in any other fashion. Sat on the beach and drank this watering beer, from time to time taking a dip in none other than the Pacific ocean. Definitely not a good beer but still a memorable experience in the hot mexican sun.

As Mexican macro pale lagers go, this one is pretty decent. Relatively clean. Some tart astringency in the finish.

Very pale straw yellow pour with no real head. Corny, grassy aroma. Taste - very, very thin, like soda water,corny. There’s no really nasty flavours to it; the problem is there is just no flavour to it at all.

Mexican lager since around 1900 (!), from the same brewery as the infamous Corona Extra. Thin, off-white head, colour a pure golden blonde, clear. Aroma of corn, honeyish malt, grass, iron, mineral water. Very neutral taste with a lot of carbon dioxide and minerals, on a popcorn-like basis, metallic, watery with almost no hop bitterness. And still I prefer this over Corona, it has just a little bit more body and I can imagine this quenches the thirst on a hot Mexican - or Californian - day.

@Spanje, @Wine Palace Platja DÁro,
