4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted: 2010 Calgary Beerfest. Pefect hue of Hazelnut Brown. Nose: Warm toffee, forest wood and morning toast. Taste: Toffee entrance followed by dancing hops that cover every area of the mouth. Birch tree comes through near the end and sticks around through a long finish. I am blown away by the quality and depth of Paddock Woods beers at this tasting.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks go to CapFlu for the bottle! Poured just a lovely clear, deep amber with a well-retained cap of off-white/beige head.. nice lacing as it descended. I loved the aroma on this as well!.. very juicy with caramel and grapefruit meat topped by citrus, pine, and floral hoppage.. then it warmed up a bit, releasing spicy cedar, toffee, and another level of caramel. This beer just kept rolling when it hit the palate.. sweet darker fruits and floral bitterness grace the front of the tongue, with a caramel and toffee base setting in shortly behind.. moderate and well-balanced pine, floral, and citrus bitterness surround.. and last through the refreshing finish. Medium-bodied and as mentioned, well-balanced on the palate. This is one of the best IPAs Iíve had in quite a while!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2007 Hazy dark orange amber with a creamy tan cap. Toffee and resinous, woody hop aromas. Smooth soft malts, sweet toffee, toast, apricot fruit, bitter woody/leafy citrus-oil finish. Iíve said it before-- I love a malty IPA, and this is a beauty!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This represents an IPA very well. Certainly up there with other good canadian IPAís, like Hop Head from Alberta. Very full bodied and hoppy. True to the style, so donít be expecting anything super unique here.

Pours hazy roange with nice long lasting head. First aroma is skunk, but opens up more with notes of honey and sweet clementines. Citrus on the palate..some sweetness balanced nicely with a hoppy finish. Very enjoyable ipa.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy burnt range with a off white/tan mostly remaining medium sized head. Inviting aroma with a medium intensity. Sweet, bitter, earthy, floral aromas. Medium in itís intensity, and aftertaste. Has a coarse coarse quality to it. Creamy round texture with a bitter, hop, malty taste. Rich well-balanced quality. Appreciated.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
I like this stuff, gone through a few sixers of it and still grab it from time to time. Pours a clear orange with a white head. The aroma is biscuity, malty, with almost an after thought of hops and candied orange. The flavour starts out with a touch of grapefruit, but then goes into a heavy biscuit malt phase, then back to the hops in the finish. A little malty for a IPA, and a touch rough around the edges, but over all I really like this brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
355ml brown bottle. Packaged on June 18, 2007. Pours a caramel brown colour, a touch hazy, with hints of orange. Head is thin and white, just a wisp of it is retained on the surface. Malty aroma, caramel, with some slight grapefruity/citrusy hops. Flavour is at first caramel malt, then a good dose of grapefruity hops arrive and linger to the finish. Fairly bitter lingering finish with grapefruit notes. Body is light for style, carbonation a bit subdued, but very drinkable (sessionable) overall.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Huge dense head, between cream--colour and mango over reddish-brown/amber beer. Very nice nose of exotic fruit, hops with touches of mango, lytchee, grapefruit. Some cookey malts playing hide-and-seek behind. Hoppy, sourish-bitterish taste, just overclashing a cakey sweet-matly underbuild. Less fruity than the nose, if still quite nice. Grapey, bitter(ish) oranges, some lytchee left. On the reverse side of the coin, the finish is metallic-bitter, much more crude. Not really full-bodied, bit mineral water quality. The nose is fantastic. The rest OK to more than OK. Danke, joss

Aroma is lightly hoppy with a caramel background, some nuttiness. Taste is fairly sweet, caramel, crystal malt, light hoppiness.
