3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 VerticalBaconStrips (1896) - Assat, Alberta, - FEB 16, 2013Loose bottle found at the shop for cheap. Seeing review dates I get the feeling this is probably on the old side. I like to taste the old. Smells fruity with a mix of sweet and dry malts. Cereal flakes, caramel, something blended with a pseudo chocolate. Holy shit, Oilers come back down 4-1 and beat the Av’s 6-4 with a team record 56 shots - cool. Taste is pretty good - straight up mellow malty beer with just enough hops to make this enjoyable. Brain has turned off. That’s enough details I think.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Reimer96 (581) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 3, 2013
Pours a clear golden copper with a small white head that dissipates into a ring. Aroma of sweet caramel, bready malts and a hint of grassy hops. Taste is caramel, bready malts, grassy hops and a nice smooth bitterness. Finishes fairly dry with moderate carbonation.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 Narnad (1340) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Pours a deep orange color with a modest white head to top it. Aroma is a toasted malt and light earthy hops bitterness with just a touch of non-sugary essence of maple syrup at the tail end. Flavor has a very modest toasted presence with a touch of grassy/earthy bitterness. Body is perfect with a great lightness, light dryness and zero sugary presence. Overall a pretty good bitter. The toasty presence in the brew is fantastic and puts a lot of other "light" beers to shame. Wish this was a local option for me.

355ml bottle pours a light murky brown color with a finger of white head that leaves some spots of lacing. Aroma is earthy and citrus with some hints of caramel. 3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 8, 2012
Single bottle purchased from Zyn Liqour in Calgary, AB on 07/06/2012. Colour: Medium brown with minimal white lacing. Nose: Caramel softened malt with mixed in fudge. Lots of fresh yeast as well. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Light milk chocolate on-set then some roasted pecan and malt. Woody and slightly bitter through the finish. Nothing wrong here.

Bottle. Medium amber colour, thin off white head. Aroma is simple brewers cereal, a little toasty. Flavour is toasty caramel, raw tobacco, and a hint of butterscotch. I thought I got some marmalade early on but I couldn’t find it again later. Pretty simple, but an easy drinker for summer.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 presario (4406) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 15, 2012
Bottle. Copper with minimal head. Caramel aroma with something weird around the edges. lmost like malt, vegetable and bronze. Similar taste; is that a hint of tobacco?
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dresden (517) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - JUN 27, 2012
Saw that patrick had rated this and remembered I had one in the fridge! This beer has almost no aroma at all. I got my nose wet trying to pick it up. Werid. A nice looking beer, clear with great lacing. Nice and bitter, with some grain. A nice English style bitter that could easily be a session beer.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 patricks110 (1212) - Alberta, CANADA - JUN 27, 2012
Not bad at all. Pours a bright golden amber in the body with a thin yellowish head. The head leaves some tasty looking bands of lacing that fall slowly down the glass. The nose is sweet and overall a grainy aroma with a hint of grassy and spiced hops. Sweet grainy flavor and a bit of bitterness on the finish. Well balanced flavor with a crisp finish. A nice summer brew.
