355ml brown bottle. Black pour, opaque. head is caramel coloured, sticky lace. Nose has some cherry fruit, some tang. Taste has tangy cherry, big roasted malt, sweet chocolate. Finishes drier, roast, woody barrel, faint coffee, some lingering cherry tang. Full body, smooth and light carbonation. Alcohol blends in well. Very nice, would like to have all three of these Monkey beers in a side by side.

@1398. Black appearance with a brown head. Chocolate and caramel and cherry. Slightly boozy. A touch thin. Dark chocolate, roasty. Tipsy. Fine.

355mL bottle, pours jet black with a medium tan / brown head. Nose brings out loads of fresh maraschino cherries, over top subtler roasted malt that is more or less drowned out by the cherries. Flavour brings out dry, subtly tart cherries upfront, along with roasted malt, and some powdery dry cocoa powder. The cherries do dominate, but it’s still clear this is an impie stout through and through, with a soft, velvety, creamy body. Finishes on the subtly tart, dry cherries. Solid stuff, considering I don’t normally like fruited stouts.

Bottle with thanks to kbudd12! Pours opaque black with a medium dark brown head, creamy, dissipates slow with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, cherry. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, just a bit of bitterness, dark fruits, cherry (but kind of fakish), touch of bourbon. Grows off me as I drink it, but not bad per se. Fair bit of astringence. Medium-full body and quite creamy mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle. Nice black pour with minimal head. Lots of cherries in the aroma, mixed in with some roasted malts and a touch of bourbon. Mild tartness up front, some roasted malts, a touch of bourbon on the end, almost no heat from the booze. A real nice effort, the cherries create a nice dynamic without being cloying.

Pours an opaque black with a sizable lasting brown ring around the glass. Aroma is tart cherries, roasted malts, chocolate, dried fruits, and a touch of alcohol tingle. Flavour is sour cherry, roasted malts, licorice, chocolate, and bourbon. Interesting take.

Pours an opaque black with a red tinge and a nice brown head and a little lace. Aroma of sour cherry blasters, bourbon, chocolate and dried fruits likes prunes. Taste is bourbon, chocolate, sour cherries, black forrest cake and wood. Nice mix of flavors and and aromas. Excellent beer overall but the cherries make it more of a dessert beer, which is fine but the original is just so good!

Bottle share. Thanks for the bottle, gully. Big bubble, tan cap on a dark brown, ruby accent body. Aroma is sweet cherry, chocolate, prune. Taste is astringent cherry, chocolate, and wood. Dry. A bit too carbonated.

Pours a dark black with a light town head. The nose is sour cherry, and barnyard funk. The pallet is watery cherry. Overall very simple. It is a dark beer with a little sweet and tart cherry. Overall a good beer but simple. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
