Very well balanced malt to hops ratio. Dry hopped for extra depth.

bottle - Pours dark copper colored with a small head. It has a resinous, hoppy aroma. The strongly bitter flavor has more resinous character and some caramel malt in the background. It’s medium to full bodied, a solid but certainly not fantastic beer.

Muddy yellow pour, medium white head, minimal lacing. Lovely IPA, citrus and pine through and through. Medium body, a little bit of alcohol comes through in the finish but it is mostly a long lasting bitter ending.

My Bottom Line:
Candied apricots and caramel whip up a portly Imperial IPA, leading to a long aftertaste of resinous hops and alcohol warmth.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A generous head of foam settles atop the shiny amber.
-Aroma lacks hop brightness. It’s also a tad vegetal.
-Can’t find a date on the bottle, so no idea how fresh this is.
-This is a very decent strong ale, but it is weak as a Double IPA.

On tap at Smith, pours a hazy a beg with a large khaki head. Sweet aroma of caramel and toffee. Thick palate, sweet chewy caramel and toffee malt with light hop bitterness. Meh, not awful.

On tap at Barley Brothers. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma is a bit muddled with musty grain, earthy citrus and grass notes. Flavor has some sweet citrus with grass notes, sweet grains and a hint of butterscotch underlying.

For a couple ipa it has a nice balance of grapefruit, sweetness and a hint of moss. Tasty, easy drinker.

Pours quite cloudy dark orange golden into the glass with a fine off white head. Ok lacing down the sides of the glass. A bit sweet dried fruity, toffee and hoppy aroma. A fine medium + body. A little bit unbalanced sweetness versus bitterness. Not cloying in any way. Just a bit to much over to the sweet side. Soft carbonation. Nice complex flavor with dried fruit, resinous, some pine, raisins and quite hoppy. Decent and ok dipa, although a bit to much over to the sweet side for my likings.

Poured from a 355 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a good amount of white head. Aromas of caramel and pine. Good bite on the first sip followed by the caramel. Has a good balance of bitterness but doesn’t leave a bad taste behind.

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness, pine and light butter scotch. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness, pine and light grapefruit with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Tap. Second IPA of the night and still shocked that it closely resembles the style. Piney with a little alcohol burn. Not expertly crafted but drinkable and pretty enjoyable.
