matt7215 (578), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Dec 14, 2007 355 ml bottle froma trade with paco. pours hazy orange with a small white head and good carbonation. the carbonation maintains what head there is and creates beautiful lacing. aromas of citris hops and big malt depth. flavours are malty with a very bitter hop finish. the rye adds a creamy smoothness thats not normally found i ipa’s. this ones damn good and i wish i could get more. thanks paco!! Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 12, 2007 A hazy dark amber ale with a thick creamy off white head. Aroma is rather doughy, caramel and light hopping. In mouth, a very herbaceous rendition of the IPA, grassy, none of the floral hops expected, the bitterness tending to be very dry and citrusy. Alcohol warmth in finale pleases the mouth. An IPA veering on a Belgian Dubbel. Gift from Pintbypint, late January 2007. danmalleck (25), Canada Jul 9, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark, medium sized bubbles and nice tight head. Good lacing. Nice, very malty nose, with a touch of hops. Very nice on the tongue, a little strong alcohol flavour, but very nice finish. The finish kicks in a few seconds after swallowing. My girlfriend says it tastes like bread, but I don’t see it. kmweaver (2125), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Jun 18, 2007 341mL bottle, courtesy of presario. Thanks, Trevor! Pours a beautifully hazy, pale mahogany color with a slight ruby tinge; off-white head with solid retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Nice, chewy aroma, showing dried fruit and cola and nuts; some mild hop bitterness. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: there’s some very prominent dried red fruits at the forefront of this beer, which all but overshadow the hoppy characteristics; plenty of nutty maltiness, which is only then followed by a lively citrus bitterness at mid-palate; very balanced IPA (which is my preference with this sort of hop profile), and very enjoyable. Lengthy, bitter hop and light dried fruit finish.
