Dark brown color, almost black, with beige creamy head. Delicate aroma of roasted malts and dark chocolate. Good body structure; good flavor of dark chocolate, with a sharp chili touch; correct bitterness; the final is a bit burning, on the tip of the tongue. Good.

Dark brown. The aroma has light chocolate and cayenne. Mostly syrupy chocolate, but finishes with a light hint of chile. Mellow and by no means as refined as the likes of Hunahpu. Too syrupy and without much nuance.

So-so stout, with an edge. Mediium borwn, fast disapearing head. A little chocolate and spice aroma. A bit thin mouthfeel. However the pepper gives it a spicey pop. Drying finish. Altogether not a bad one for late winter.

Bottle thanks to Kevin. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose/taste of chocolate, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, light toast, vanilla and toasted chocolate malt. Medium body. Heat in finish.

2012-07-03. Very dark brown-black body with a huge foamy tan head. 3+ Modest aroma, dry dusty-toasty malt, cocoa notes. Flavour has a malty core, accents of dusty malt and cocoa, a very light pepper character that has a light burn on the lips and in the back of the throat. Toasty malt character comes out a bit more as you move through the glass. 6+ Average bodied palate is thin for the beer, but the foamy pour suggests that it may have thinned a bit in the time it took me to get to this bottle? Decent, I’d like a bit more cocoa and chocolate and less of the cayenne for my own tasts. Bottle via trade with Savvy1982

Bottle. Dark brown viscous pour, with a slowly forming brown head. Aroma is awesome-- Mexican chocolate, background roast. Very fudgey chocolatey flavour with lactic undertones and a nice sneak-attack of peppery heat long after the swallow. Medium bodied, silky mouthfeel. Delicious!

12 oz. bottle from Savvy1982- thanks again, Kyle! Pours a deep, dark, pretty much opaque brown with a small tan head. We all got a kick out of the crazy label- the dude having his heart ripped out shouldn’t be smiling so much, eh? Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, pepper, toast, and cola- some oxidation has begun to set in. Same for the flavor- roast, chocolate, vanilla, earth, leaves, and subtle cayenne pepper. Light-bodied, with high carbonation and a dry, toasty, somewhat oxidized mouthfeel. A little bit of a letdown, as I think a better stout is in there.

In short: As advertised…. Vanilla, chocolate and hot spiciness. Well made but not my thing

The look: Black body topped by a medium tan head that quickly recedes to a small layer of foam
In long: Nose is a bit chocolaty, a bit spicy, some vanilla and a light tar sensation. Both the aroma and the taste is what is advertised. Light creamy oily chocolate icing, hot spiciness that is not too exaggerated, vanilla extract… and that’s about it. I thought the chocolate was playing second violin to the vanilla and hot spices. I must say I’m not a fan of hot spices stouts/porters but this one did not over the top although by the end of the bottle the hot spices were burning my throat, I’m glad this was only sold in 12oz bottles. Another hot-spicy beer that I didn’t really enjoy. Hot spices are the semi-colon of the brewing industry, they are rarely used because no one really knows exactly how to use them.

[4582-20120704] Bottle. Roasted coffee malt aroma. Black body with a long-lasting giant foamy tan head. Roasted chocolate coffee grounds flavour follows up quickly with a hot and tangy wood fruit finish. Full body has quite a spicy kick which builds up over sips. Really interesting but I have no desire to have more than a sample at a time. (6/4/7/3/15) 3.5

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of roasted malt and light black chocolate notes. Taste starts at first with some notes of dry roasted malt with notes of black chocolates, Peppers notes then come through with some light heat which is well balanced with the rest of the flavours. Body is about average with good carbonation and a somewhat creamy texture. Nota big fan of peppers in beer but this one was well balanced.
