Our bitter ale. Annapolis Valley Ale has an amber hue, a lightly fruity malty flavour and a huge hit of hops. Those who like it, love it.

Those who like it love it? I love hops but geez, this is tough. Can you say diacetyl? I can, and I can smell it and taste it, in this beer. Poured at Paddy’s in Kentville. A few of the beers had some diacetyl but this one was worse, figures, I was looking forward to the hoppy brew. I won’t be buying it again any time soon.

On tap at the Wolfville brewpub. Pours a cloudy dark orange with tiny off-white cap. Aroma is citrusy hops and fruity malt. Flavour is grapefruit hops and light fruity malt. Modest bitterness in finish. Lightly carbonated. Probably the best of an underwhelming lot.

Lubiere (9877) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 19, 2009
A nice amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. A rather buttery malt aroma with light fruity esters. In mouth, a nice nutty malt with good herbal hops, some mineral notes. almost veering on Czech pils territory. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 10 2009.

On tap at the Kentville Pub. Amber colour with a decent white head clinging to glass. Hoppy flavour with grapefruit finish. Sweet on the palette. Not much aroma coming from the beer.

[1840-20081102] Tap. Mild graininess aroma. Clear, dark red amber body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Burnt hops and toasted malt flavour with mild barnyard mud hints. Medium body is a little bitter. It has a husky rough hoppiness that’s not to my taste, but otherwise is good.

Clear amber with white head. Some fruitness in the mild aroma. Soft, low carbonation. Nice touch of hops. Well-balanced beer. Decent amber ale even if a bit thin. If it were beefed up it would be nice because the flavors are all good.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2008 2008-11-02. No notes. Pretty decent, and the clear star of their line up. Decent amount of hop character. On tap at brewpub
November 2005. Dark amber ale, smal off white - beige head, some lacing. (3+) Hops in the aroma show mild citrus, slight green leafy notes. Hops carry over to the flavour with a pleasant grapefruit like quality, but this becomes a bit much in the finish. Average palate. Interesting beer, would become even better if it were a touch more balanced. Very nice. 6/4/7/3/15 - 3.5

Clear reddish copper color with a thin offwhite head. Aroma and flavor of citrusy hops and caramel with a bitter finish. Light to medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation.

Dark amber colour. Aroma is light with chocolate, blueberry, crystal malt. On the palate, toasty, slightly toffeeish crystal malts play off of a background of grapefruity hops and moderate (30-32 IBUs) bitterness. Finish is earthy, slightly sweeter.

Reminded me a lot of Granite Brewery's Best Bitter. Light fruity aroma. Red gold in colour with a creamy tan head. Cherry and plum flavours, finishes with a fruity and floral bitter kick. A touch on the thin side, though.
