highlandlad (1200), Sydney, Australia Jun 29, 2008 The best of a mediocre bunch of new(ish) beers on tap at Paddy’s in June 2008. I’m guessing the brewer uses NZ Saaz for the tropical fruit notes that give it a dash of character. It’s no world-beater but it’s a nice easy summer quencher. Macro-lager gold with a good, lasting head. Light and peachy summer-fresh aroma. Has some faint NZ Saaz tropical fruit and no off-notes. Above-average lager palate - not too sharp. Thin tropical fruit cordial flavours with obvious lychee and pale malts. Clean and tasty. (Draught at brewpub with Bridge, June 2008)
MBison (403), Southern Highlands, Australia Jun 17, 2008 Draught at Paddys Pub. Arrived golden with a small, frothy, white head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was of sweet grainy malts and honey with a squeeze of lemon. Flavor was very thin and overly sweet with no bitterness, some grainy malts, honey, lemon and some metallic notes in the finish. Light bodied with lively carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, watery texture and a short finish. I could have summed this beer up in two words; “pale larger”. bluevegie (1770), Perth, Australia May 11, 2008 Tried on tap at Paddy’s back in February and didn’t do much for me as I don’t go for many lagers. I think this one was styled a little towards a marzen as it was darker in body and reminded me of a poor version of a weihenstephaner festbier.
