Commercial Description:
Red Truck IPA is an American India Pale Ale, generously dry hopped to give this beer a full hop aroma and flavor, but with a strong caramel malt profile that balances the intense hop flavor and aroma with a slight sweetness that makes this beer a rich experience in flavor.

12oz bottle picked up in Wisconsin a few months before consumption. Deep red-brown color. Decent head. Malty and soapy, and while there is a little half second of bitterness, this is pretty underwhelming hop-wise. Medium to full bodied, with some detergent lemon action. Good enough to swill any day, but really lacks finesse and class. Average at best.

Bottle shared by hopscotch. Pours dark amber color with off white head. Malty aroma with floral hops. Sweet malt flavor with mild hoppiness. I like my IPAs more hop foward than this one is. Medium body with mild carbonation.

12oz bottle thanks to waolsen. Dark amber with medium head. Very fragrant flowery/grassy hops. Roasted caramel malts meet the grassy hops head-to-head and neither really overtakes the other. Very well balanced, with moderate malt sweetness. Low bitterness to finish. Really enjoyable.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Mostly clear, dark amber ale with and orange hue and a small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma is caramely, nutty and well-roasted. Wafts of caramel, toffee, praline and earthy hops ascend from the glass. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Like the aroma, the flavor is mainly malt-forward - lots of caramel layered upon toffee and mild chocolate with an earthy bitterness that serves to balance and enhance instead of engulf. Finishes well-balanced and satisfying. Perfect IPA for a malt head like me, but plenty of hop flavor to satisfy almost anyone. India Scotch Ale? Much love and thanks to Tinkerbell for thinking of me during her Colorado beer and mead travels!

Tap. Moderate aromas of light bread and roasted for the malt, herbs for the hops, light dough for the yeast, and hints of toffee and faint spice. Head is small creamy, off-white, with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is slightly red/brown. Flavor starts moderately acidic and finishes lightly acidic, a little sour, and a long moderately bitter aftertaste. Palate is light to medium, between dry and watery, has a soft carbonation, and finishes lightly dry. A nice well rounded beer, but missing the pine or citrus aspect I expect in an IPA.

(bottle). Pours a brownish red color. Medium size off white head with moderate lacing. Aroma of hops and citrus. Very hoppy taste, with light citrus. Smooth finish which is slightly astringent. Moderate carbonation.

Copper with a rocky slowly dissipating beige crown. Aroma of grapefruit, grassy hops, caramel malt and light citrus. First impression is just back end bitterness with not much else. Subsequent sips reveal citrus, bready, pale and sweet malts. Bitterness does linger on and some astringency creeps in as does an acidic finish.

Bottle purchased 2/09. Decent hop aroma. Flavor was bitter and floral but not too sweet. I thought this was a fairly well balanced IPA.
