Paljas blond is an unfiltered blond beer of 6%, with refermentation in the bottle. The use of some caramel malts gives a little sweet aroma and taste. The 4 different hops (Magnum, Styrian Goldings, Saaz and Kent) are giving a fresh aroma and a lot of taste.

Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty. Yeast profile is quite spicy and a bit grassy. Taste starts with some sweetness but continues more balanced and the finish is quite dry with a light bitterness on the aftertaste. Light bodied but quite smooth feeling. Overall it’s a good belgian ale with a nice spicy and floral taste.

Robe blonde, belle mousse. Nez plus élégant, du fruit, du houblon, pointe de levures. Bouche à l’attaque fraîche et fruitée, milieu de bouche un peu creux, finale fruitée. Agréable sans plus.

Bottled, 330ml from The Spar in Ostend, West Flanders, Belgium. Hazy gold with white head. Quite a simple blond beer, malty sweet with grainy notes and a hint of earthy, leafy hop. There is an underlying caramel note. It’s simple but pretty reasonable because of it.

330 ml bottle bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.

Clear golden orange colour with no yeast sediments; One finger head and crumpety white foam which last for 4 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing with fizzy carbonation; Fragrant aroma of malt, with moderate banana, light red fruits, light metallic, alcohol, light sugar, earth, strong Bel yeast, very light lemon and light grass; Medium sweet taste of malt, with metallic, wheaty tartness, red fruits, floral, molasses, earth, spices, bread, strong yeast, lemon, moderate bitter hops and grass; Medium body. Slick and creamy palate; Mouth Feel is very good maltyness in a slightly thinned and smooth background. Wheaty taste notable with tartness. Red fruit malt base with floral, spice and earthy hops. Nice medium sweetness, slightly bready but very yeasty. Light lemon to round. Pretty good!... Hoppiness is very English: earth, light lemon and light grass in nose; Floral, earth, spices, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is moderate for a lasting, mid-to-light astringent bitter sweet malty finish; Quite dry after taste. Creamy and quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: This is a fine, basic Belgian Ale with good looks, no let up in maltyness, strong bitter sweet English hoppiness and creamy to the tongue. Only the strong metallic taste holds it back somewhat. Not as fragrant as Leffe Blonde, but it’s tasty enough to put all those so-called Belgian Ale rip-offs (like Palm Speciale) to shame. Recommended!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a fizzy, white head. Sweet, fruity nose. Rich, malty, sweet body, again very fruity and flowery, subdued yeastiness. Very subtle hops, but very drinkable and well composed - especially considering the style. 150616

Bottle 33cl. Bright gold with a clear white, fluffy top. Medium carbonation. Aroma has grain, malts. The taste is mildly bitter, somewhat like pilsner. Later on the bitterness increases and a warm glow of alcohol stays in the throat.
