Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - NOV 26, 2010
Bottle: Small vast white foamy head on top of a dark orange to amber colored beer. Smell is a strange mix of pilsner, sugar, malts and some dark sweet fruits, raisin, prunes and peach. Taste is sweet but turns pretty quick into more bitter with a pilsner and spicy (also biut grassy) aftertaste. Spices, fruits, hops, bitter, malts grass... Mid carbo and mid body, ok beer.

330ml bottle (Punavuoren Ahven, Helsinki)
5 tobacco and black tea
4 deep orange, small head
5 dull, dare I say it; keggy taste. touch of mushroom, and almost metallic
2 simple malty body, mostly filled out by the sweetness, a touch dull.
8 disappointed, but unsurprised by that

een mooie amber kleur met een mooie volle witte kraag. smaak: licht fruitige, lichtjes bitter. palate: lekker vol van gerstenmout en ook hier weer een lichte fruit smaak met een licht droge afdrong.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2010 While most drinkers (so it seems at least) prefer this "dobbel" version, I rather stick with the "normal" version of this beer. The colour is excellent, the taste is good. Edit: tasted in september 2010 a bottle, 2 years overdated. Still a decent beer! The normal version should probably allready have been rotten, this one was well kept for sure. Tasted good.

Pours a clear amber color with a nice beige head. Aroma of malts, caramels and spices. Flavors is malty with caramel, some candy sugar, a little fruity, and some spices. Good carbonation, with a sweet and bitter finish. Nice and refreshing, with some good flavors.

Pleasant, light carmel aroma. Clear, reddish-brown color, not much head. Big, grainy flavor---not sweet at all, which is surprising given the aroma. Slightly bitter. Thin, but not watery. Bitter finish.
