Pours a clear golden with a medium white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of fruits and ethanol, a little fresh. Taste is of fruits and spicy alcohol, more alcohol than anything in fact. Some sugar. Body is medium, carbonation medium and alcohol dries the mouth. Overall a not so good or complex belgian strong, no major flaws but nothing really good either.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A clear sparkling golden orange beer with yellow hues at the bottom of my glass. Large white head, good retention. Herbal aroma, "limonade", dry fruits, biscuit. Medium sugary sweet, light herbal bitter. Medium body, silky texture, average carbonation, light herbal finish. Overall, pleasant herbal aroma, nice texture, average taste.

Uma cerveja bastante saborosa e boa representante do estilo. Belíssimo colarinho!!! Consistente e bem formado! Um pouco bege. Belíssimo líquido!!! Dourado para o alaranjado. Límpido. Aroma intenso. Emana só de abrir a garrafa. Doce, muito doce. Maltado. Um pouco de mel, talvez. Amargor discreto no princípio. Cerveja suave. Álcool presente, sem ser excessivo. Tem alguma acidez no intervalo. No retrogosto o amargor se desenvolve mais.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2015 The follow-up to the original Royal of 2003, just a little bit stronger (+0.5% ABV, so I’m wondering if they can still be called aliases?). Snow white, sticky, thick head, deep orangey golden blonde colour, amber, clear. Aroma of caramel and walnuts, green apple, grapefruit, banana, orange peel, flowery hops and the unmistakable cooked smell of pasteurization. Smooth, rather neutral onset, turning more caramelly, honeyish and nutty in the middle, some fruitiness, lightly sourish touch, light hop bitterishness in the finish, some spiciness and some warming alcohol, as well as lingering malt sweetishness.
