Hazy amber color, beige head. Aroma of butterscotch. Taste is fruity with light spice. Nice.

33cl bottle. Light golden with a good white head. Nose : Yeast, pepper and some citrus notes. Little raspberry aromas hidden in the background. Sip : Well carbonated, still foaming in the throat but not annoying. Sweet malt that goes into cherry alcohol. Ending with medium sourness of a cider. Nice harmony. After couple of sips I feel the hops staying there for good. Good beer.

Bottle at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Dark golden / light amber color, white head. Smell malts and sweet. Taste sweet, fruits and a little bit bitter. Nice carbo and medium body.

Opalesquent deep golden to amber colour with a rocky, whipped creamy head, which collapses slowly.
Low-keyed nose.
Slick mouthfeeled and easy drinkable brew with a dry and moderate sugarly sweet-fruity aroma of cereals and light alcohol followed by a dry, citric and warming finish.
Showed nothing outstanding, but made overall pleasant impressions to me.

A bit stronger version of the Palm beer (both in alcohol and aroma) and it shows off. I found the fruity elements a real refresher and the higher alcohol percentage gave it more body. Still it’s Palate is week and does not differ from Palm’s regular beer, something I would actually expect since this one is called ’Royale’.

Das Palm Royale riecht fruchtig. Dazu gesellen sich vanilleartige und einige hopfige Geruchsaromen.
Sehr sektbetonter Geschmack, wobei die Konzentration nicht auf die Süße, sondern eher auf den Weincharakter abzielt. Das ist mit den leicht säuerlich-holzigen Akkzenten auch gut gelungen. Der Abgang gibt sich ein wenig seicht, unterstreicht durch seine leichte Hefe aber nochmals den Schampus.
Noch nie trank ich ein Bier, welches derart einem Sekt glich. Sicherlich ungewöhnlich und gut. Feinperlige Getränke verlangen aber auch nach ihren Liebhabern. Ich bin es nicht ganz. Test vom 3.3.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Hazy amber body. Head collapses rather fast but leaves a thin film. Sugary aroma with some phenols. Taste is thin and dry. Alcohol is too apparent in the finish. Perhaps the lack of yeast in the bottle makes the palate too thin to properly cover the alcoholic bite. I think it would be more balanced at around 6%.

Fruchtig und würzig riechend schießt es einem bei diesem Bier in die Nase. Vor dem Trinken fällt auch die Flasche ist, die sehr elegant aussieht. Sehr schön!Starker Antrunk und Nachgeschmack, bei dem man den Alkoholgehalt nur im Unterton bemerkt. Leicht herb ist dieses Bier auch, was allerdings auch eher untergeordnet ist. Alles in allem ein gutes belgisches Bier.
