Pours a clear golden with a medium white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of fruits and ethanol, a little fresh. Taste is of fruits and spicy alcohol, more alcohol than anything in fact. Some sugar. Body is medium, carbonation medium and alcohol dries the mouth. Overall a not so good or complex belgian strong, no major flaws but nothing really good either.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A clear sparkling golden orange beer with yellow hues at the bottom of my glass. Large white head, good retention. Herbal aroma, "limonade", dry fruits, biscuit. Medium sugary sweet, light herbal bitter. Medium body, silky texture, average carbonation, light herbal finish. Overall, pleasant herbal aroma, nice texture, average taste.

Uma cerveja bastante saborosa e boa representante do estilo. Belíssimo colarinho!!! Consistente e bem formado! Um pouco bege. Belíssimo líquido!!! Dourado para o alaranjado. Límpido. Aroma intenso. Emana só de abrir a garrafa. Doce, muito doce. Maltado. Um pouco de mel, talvez. Amargor discreto no princípio. Cerveja suave. Álcool presente, sem ser excessivo. Tem alguma acidez no intervalo. No retrogosto o amargor se desenvolve mais.

The follow-up to the original Royal of 2003, just a little bit stronger (+0.5% ABV). Snow white, sticky, thick head, deep orangey golden blonde colour, amber, clear. Aroma of caramel and walnuts, green apple, grapefruit, banana, orange peel, flowery hops and the unmistakable cooked smell of pasteurization. Smooth, rather neutral onset, turning more caramelly, honeyish and nutty in the middle, some fruitiness, lightly sourish touch, light hop bitterishness in the finish, some spiciness and some warming alcohol, as well as lingering malt sweetishness.

pours slightly hazy light but bright golden with a very nice creamy white head, good retention and lacing. golden candi, honey, boozy white grape juice, soft earthy, grassy and floral notes, lightly tart small yellow fruits - some rotten ones, peppery booze. average carbonation, light to medium body - oily and a bit sticky, assertive grassy-woodsy-spicy finish. meh.

Bottle (330 ml). Slightly hazy golden with a frothy white head and some lacing. Aroma is of raisins, phenolic notes, cereals, alcohol and candi. Taste is slightly sweet with raisins, phenolic presence, grains, alcohol and light herbal presence. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Slightly dry finish. Light lingering sweetness. Weak Belgian Strong Ale. Very raw, not complex and not refined at all. Not horrible though.

33 cl.

Bottle at home. Crystal clear, golden colour with a sparse head. Yeasty, grassy aroma. Very complex flavour, sweet, malty, apples, pears and alcohol. Good style.

Bouteille. Bière blonde parfaitement translucide. Une belle mousse blanche trône. Un nez marqué par la levure, le malt pils et un soupçon de houblon. Une bouche simple, alcool, malt pils. Finale sucrée et légèrement amère.

0,75cl bottle. I’m not a big fan of Palm beer, but this is one of the better ones. For me it’s typical a "once in a while beer", nothing more and nothing less.
