Bottle. Pours clear dark orange with a small white head. Aromas of sweet malt, sugar, caramel, and corn. The flavor is sweet sugary malt and corn husks. Smooth. Not particularly great. [657]

This is the belgian beer that most reminds me of a bitter, some fruit flavours and an amber colour

draft@bar+can: one of the big macro’s in Belgium, not very good, weird caramel malts, lots of sugar, nasty bitter hops, not horrible but overall too far removed from good

On tap. Pours cloudy brown/amber with a thin beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, brown sugar, and a little spicy yeast. Light hops. Average texture. A decent beer.

Not sure I’ve had anything quite like this one before. Not sure I mean that in a good way either. Pours a clear copper with decent head. It comes across as a curious hybrid of belgian ales and any generic pale lager. It’s got a dull graininess of a pale lager, the crisp grassy finish of a pilsner and just a touch of belgian oddity thrown in the middle and just enough caramel to be noticed. Hmm.

I guess you need to be a fan. You either like it or you don’t... I don’t. But that doesn’t mean others aren’t allowed to like it.

11.2 oz bottle. "Belgium’s Amber Beer"
Pours into my tulip with a large bright white head that recedes decently slowly but doesn’t leave much lacing. The beer is crystal clear amber, the epitome of an amber colored beer.
The smell is definitely underwhelming, it has a light hoppiness, light malt, and some yeasty spice.
The taste has a huge amount of carmally malt and a subtle bit of hops. It is smooth and well-balanced but nothing notably exciting. It tastes like what most American "Belgian styled" pale ales taste like, easy to drink but unrefined. It is a good session beer but not something "to behold" like many Belgian ales are.
The mouthfeel is very clean and balanced with a nice carbonation.
This may be a macro beer but It does a lot more for me than what Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, or Leffe do.

Rich amber color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, & subtle fruit; Flavor of slight sweet malt, some caramel, light fruit, and citrus; Overall, not that impressed by this one - decent.
