1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
bready with very little to no hops aroma. Lovely clear amber orange color with 1 finger white head. Almost no lacing. Medium sweet body, lightly bitter. Oily texture with average carbonation. Very lager like and not very impressive. Was expecting more...

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft with Mitch at Claddagh’s in Pittsburgh after the Icicle Bicycle ride. Clear and crisp, with lots of delightful bouquets of flavor. Not your typical overly yeasty Belgian style beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Nose is very mild -- candy sugar, some floral notes, and a touch of tarnished metal. Pours brown with a light, quick-fading head. A touch of smoke and sweetness on the tongue with some saccharine notes and some roasty notes. Finish is saccharine. Like a weak Belgian ale crossed with a dark mild, and only fair at being either.

0,25l Flasche. Goldgelb fast braun mit hellem Schaum. Ausgewogener Körper mit ausreichend Kohlensäure, fast süffig. Schmeckt etwas malzig und nach Brot. Angenehmes Bier!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Decent enough ale...thought it was as amber lager on 1st taste. Bit of a metallic nose to it, but past that it is pleasantly hoppy with some amber malt sweetness.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear dark copper with a thin one finger head and minimal lace. Bready aroma with a only a hint of the banana and yeast I was expecting. Flavor is similar with a heavy bready malt, overripe banana and light yeast. Medium body and carbonation, effervescent mouthfeel, and a lingering bread sweetness in the finish.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle in Amsterdam. Nowhere bear as bad as I was expecting. Looked nice enough. Had a very odd smell akin to herbs, orange and fart. That’s right, fart. Taste however was pleasant enough. Mainly herbal notes with toffee and orange rind. Ok stuff

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
330 ml bottle as label as “Palm” bought at Belgian Beer International in Tsuen Wan.
Clear honey amber colour; Very thin head and soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Minimal lacing with fizzy small carbonation; Smell of sweet thin lager malt, with light medicine syrup, faint yellow fruits, corn and faint grass; Mid to light sweet taste of light lager malt, with sour notes, light corn syrups, thin red fruits, hint of wet cardboard, hint of liquorices and faint grass; Mid to light body, close to watery with slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is a cross between skeleton Belgian Ale and macro Pale. All known Bel Ale taste were stripped, and was left with some faint red fruits laced with macro corn syrup. Thicker body than a Pale, cardboard comes in only notes, no other off tastes, nor any other decent taste notes… Hoppiness is faint grass in nose and taste. Liquorices comes in flashes to provide some mute astringency. No finish; Slightly dry after taste, very easy to mouth.
Comments: Before I thought the barebone Grimbergen Blonde was poor, but this one now tops the honour as the Budweiser of Belgian Ale - smell like a lager, low maltyness, devoid of any Bel-like aroma and taste - so easy and undemanding that this is a bar beer for hanging out in Happy hours, and definitely not for sessioning. Poor!
