COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
PALM Ale has long been one of Europe’s top-selling specialty beers. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, PALM represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.

11.2 oz bottle. Pretty amber pour with a nice white head. Nose is sweet caramel and some odd esters. Mild flavor, caramel and some bread. Kinda disappointing.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2009 I think this is the type of Palm I had on tap. A nice pour, but the beer was a little disappointing. A watery dark brew with some sweetness. I also tried a bottle of something called Palm Belgian Amber. This was also a good looker, with a plush head and nice lacing on the glass. The flavor was acceptable. Mostly dry, with a little malty, molasses sweetness. Not bad, but I expect better from Belgium.

on tap at Dive 96. Clear amber with nice dense white head. Caramel sweet aroma. Little carbonation gave full feel on the tongue. Malty and toasty flavor. As an amber, didn’t expect more than basic drinkability.

Draught. Yellow-amber pour with a medium fizzy white head. Aroma of malt and bread. Even taste, though somewhat thin, notes of sweet sugars but ends with a dry finish.

Tap @ BXL. Pours clear amber color. Tastes on the maltier side, some notes of dough and toasted malts.

Bottled. Stable one-finger white head. Crystal clear, bright amber colored body. Prominent toffee-ish malt aroma with some pleasant notes of bread, ash and tobacco. Tasty is fairly sweet and malty with a distinct bitterness. Notes of dark fruits. Medium to light body. Dries up in the finish. A charming one, high drinkability.

Draught at zythos bierfestival 2009. Clear, amber ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Aroma is fruity and malty. The flavour is fruity, malty and sweet. Watery finish.
