COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
PALM Ale has long been one of Europe’s top-selling specialty beers. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, PALM represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.

Das Palm Speciale ist optisch ok. Das starke Brabanter Pferd auf dem Etikett bezieht sich wohl auf das Aroma. Intensiv süßlich-fruchtig, an einen Blumenstrauß erinnernd, mit herben Unterton. Angenehm prickelnd. Im Abgang ist es überraschend säuerlich. Ein Bier mit leichten Schwächen. Dafür sehr direkt. Könnte ich wieder kaufen.Test vom 16.3.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche

A copperbrown beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma is malty and also medium fruity, grass and hint of honey. Taste is malty and sweet, honey, grass and slightly musty aftertaste. Overally, taste is almost like lager, I’m not convinced about that. Medium bodied, nice to drink. When I get belgian ale into my glass, I would expect something else than boring, lager like beer with hint of fruitness.

330mL bottle poured pale amber with moderate white head diminishing quickly with almost no lace. Aromas are grassy and cereal. Taste is lightly sweet and bitter. Not a whole lot going on. Slightly above average beer.

330 mL bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of skunk and grass and a nutty, grainy finish. The taste is grass and skunky notes with some toasted malts and grain. Thin bodied.

Pleasant enough, but nothing remarkable and didn’t have a ton of flavor. For a belgian it was quite dry, and not at all sweet. Little malt, little hops, unremarkable. Kind of boring.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2011 Bottle poured into a tulip glass. Amber color, small head. Description is "smooth", could also be seen as uneventful. This is a very drinkable beer, but not a lot going on.

Clear amber color, with medium body and head. Some Belgian spice, but little hop bitterness. Pretty bland.

Bottled. Poured amber in colour with foamy off-white head. Malty, earthy, bready and woody aroma with some yeasty notes as well. Malty and slightly bitter flavour. Quite dry. Aftertaste is a bit dry and bready and somewhat sweet as well. Not that pleasant.
