PALM Ale has long been one of Europe’s top-selling specialty beers. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, PALM represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.
Sold as Palm outside of Europe.

A bland Belgian beer, which comes as a surprise by Belgian standards. A bit fruity, not much though. If anything, a thirst quencher - at a push.

On tap. Pours hazy amber with a long lasting white head. Fruity and malty aroma. Flavour is the same. Palate is pretty watery.

Dogbrick (9439) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 7, 2008
Sample at San Diego Brewing Company. This beer is a clear orange-ish color with a medium thin and creamy off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. The aroma is fruity and spicy. Medium-bodied with a soft mouthfeel and flavors of tart fruit and spices. Touches of yeast as well. The finish is mildly spicy and short. Slightly below average overall.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2009 Draft @ BXL between 6th and 7th ave. Pours dark amber pretty clear, with white head. The aroma is pretty light - some sweet notes. The taste is smooth and not really dry finishing as the menu description suggested. Not bad. Listed at 6% abv on the menu as well.

330ml Bottle - Copper coloured with a foamy head. Biscuity, malty and fruity aroma. The taste is fruity with some malt and a light hoppiness. It is perfectly drinkable but rather bland by Belgian standards.

On draft at San Diego Brewing Company. Don’t ask me how, but I could tell from the tap handle it was going to be bad... and I was right. I don’t know how they get away with calling this a belgian ale. It was like yeasty water.

Bottle at Calsens kvarter Odense. Creamy white good mostly deminishing head. Yellow colour. Light malty ans hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Nice moderate bitter finsih. Watery palate. Not a good belgian ale, tastes more like a lager!

Bottled. A clear dark golden/pale amber beer with a small and fast disappearing white head. Uninteresting and weak nose, lightly malty and hoppy, with light vegetables notes. the flavour is better than expected, though not transcendental, not overly sweet and with a light hopping that gives some sort of balance. Medium body, lively carbonation, not very long finish with light bitterness. Simple and not aggressive.

On tap, tons of frothy head, with clear, light gold body. Aroma was straw and pepper. Flavor more of the same, pretty dry, not too appealing, slightly dirty. Palate was nice, clean, but with some body, rolls around nicely. Overall, just didn’t enjjoy it. Reminded me of an Orval gone awry.
