COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
PALM Ale has long been one of Europe’s top-selling specialty beers. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, PALM represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.

Very average amber colored mass-produced beer. Ideal to start with for someone who’s never had anything else then lager or pilsener.

Bottle. In the U.S., this is called Palm Amber. Pours obviously an amber color with a decent sized off white head. Mostly a malty flavor and aroma. A bit crisp but goes down easily enough, actually on the lighter side. Not the greatest but still refreshing and better than most of the macro garbage that is out there.

On tap. Meh - bready aroma. Sweet malt, grain and light hop taste. Faint spice. Metallic vibe. Not horrible - but nothing special.

The beer in the glass is beautiful amber-colored with a coarse, but very durable head. The smell is malty, roasty. It starts with lots of roasted malts, bitter herb. Some fine aroma hops are spreading in the background. The finish is hoppy, very aromatic, subtly tart, and also becoming sweeter.

Draft. Pours amber with a thin off-white head. Not a whole lot of aroma -- just some mild malt and some vague fruitiness. Flavor is mild malt, some fruity sweetness, only a hint of Belgian yeast. Hops are not very apparent. Soft carbonation, slightly creamy, a bit thin. Where I drank this, the proprietors didn’t bother to call it Palm Speciale -- just Palm Amber. Good call.

Savannah, Ga - Habershan Beverage Warehouse - 330 ml bottle. Dark golden pour, soft white head, bit of lacing. Pretty much of a neutral aroma, hints of spent grain. Falvor has some caramel notes, some ripening vegetables, and a hint of grain. Mouthfeel is just thick enough. Quite pedestrian
