PALM Ale has long been one of Europe’s top-selling specialty beers. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, PALM represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.
Sold as Palm outside of Europe.

Not a top belgian ale. Copper brown, thin head, muted aromas of yeast and caramel. Flat palate of dusty caramel and faint fruit, quite thin.

Tranquillity (1433) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 7, 2006
Bottle, 500ml, bottled in Poland. Light brown cola-colour, live with bubbles floating up a long time after pouring. The head is long and sits on the sides of the glass. Faint aromas of sth. sweet, berries, sugar? Quick attack in the flavor, sparkling hops and yeast. Long finish. No too good, better than an average lager but absolutely nothing special.

Tap - Kantij, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Reminiscent of a better Yuengling lager. Clean aroma, a little ’cheese sharpness’ to the flavor, no metallic flavor, a little ’bottom yeast/corn’ flavor still. PRetty and reddish-amber. I thought it was a lager though, not a belgian ale, so I’m docking it a few points for being a weak belgian ale rather than an above average lager...

Bottle #9 on the 2006 Europe tout--Light brown color with a small white head. The aroma has a touch of lights and the taste was mostly malty with a sweet ending.

Not as good as De Koninck (you can read my review of that one to get a better grasp on what I mean). Amber. Malty. Watery.

A amber coloured beer with a nice white head. The aroma is fruity and malty. The flavour is fruity, malty and sweet. Even a bit to sweet. (Bottle 25cl, 33cl, 75cl 5.2 Alcohol% in my version)

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2013 Draught. A dark copper coloured beer with an off-white coloured head and some decent lace. The aroma is malty but there is some straw like bitterness as well. The taste is nice and malty with crunchy cereal like flavours. I have always liked this beer in the past and find it the most British of all the Belgians. Score 3.2
Subsequent rating scored 2.8. Average becomes 3.0

Tap on Antwerpener Grote Markt.. Poured a beautiful amber. Very malty, pleasantly malty beer, smells malty with a bit of must, tastes malty with sweet fruitiness. Crsip and refreshing. Nicely matched with cheese. Great everyday beer.
