2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rated on 12-28-2011 at Graydon’s Crossing in Grand Rapids, MI. This draft beer has a small smooth off-white head with a lengthy retention, transparent gold body, very little carbonation observed, and a generous amount of lacing adorns my glass. The aroma is very simple...crisp and malty. The flavor is caramel malt and crisp. The mouthfeel is soft and this beer is light bodied. This is a session beer, but there is not much to it for aroma and flavor. It is simply a boring and bland tasting beer. Too bad because I like my Belgian beers.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Amberkleurig. Wat moutige geur en smaak, caramel, gist., beetje onaangename smaak. Nooit zo’n liefhebber van palm geweest.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
25cl glass from the tab at the local steakhouse.
Appearance: Dark golden with medium sized beige head, (Just 2 fingers.) Leaving some nice lacing.
Aroma: hay, caramelised malts, hay, light citrus,
Taste: Start with the sweet malts, and a hint of yeast, then goes over in a slightly bit mor of sour freshness. Not a real shocker but for a mass produced product, more then ok.
Thin watery body, medium carbonation.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
11.2oz bottle - Pours a darkish amber ion color with a small white head that virtually disappears. Aroma is a bit malty, with a bit of skunk. Malty flavor and definitely skunked... I would call this "Belgian macro-brewed"... not worth repeating.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
bottle. Light amber with small head. Light caramel malt. Mild flavor and thin body. I don’t get places that are serving this like it’s something special. Pretty bland.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
750ml green corked and caged bottle, labelled Palm Speciale Belge 5.2% ABV, barcode# 5410783900001, poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is dark golden with medium sized beige head, that reduced quickly leaving some lacing. Aroma of lemon peels, pears and hay. Flavour of lemon peels, pears, wheat bread, a hint of spices and herbs. Taste is light sweet and light-medium bitter. Palate is light bodied, thin soft texture and fizzy carbonation. Uncomplicated, light and thin bodied for a Belgian Ale, refreshing and unoffensive, quite lager like.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
From bottle. Dark golden amber color. Aroma is faint of candy dried fruits and musty hay. Sweet and yeasty flavor. I wonder if this beer tastes better in its home country on tap. Rather than a bottle of undetermined age from a NJ retailer.
