COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
PALM Ale has long been one of Europe’s top-selling specialty beers. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, PALM represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.
Sold as Palm outside of Europe.

11.2 Oz. Bottle. Clear dark amber not much head (white) and very low carbonation. Nose is toffee, caramel and malts. Taste is mostly sweet a touch of caramel combined with a little bitterness towards the end. A good standard of what a Belgium Ale is. Is a above OK beer.

BBE 23-04-2016. Todella hapokas, minimivaahtoinen, kuparinen lagerin olemus. Miedon makea maltaan tuoksu.

Amber clear with almost no head. Typical malty-hoppy lager taste, but quite intense. Drinkable, but not too much to enjoy.

Expensive 0.75L bottle with champagne cork. Clear light amber with a big and fine white head. Maybe it’s the design, but it seems the beer does taste somehow noble with a very pleasant soft and smooth palate and very refreshing with high carbonation at the same time. However it does all this without any outstanding aromas, which leaves me wondering why this is supposed to be such a specialty.

25cl bottle, served in tulip glass. Poured a nice amber gold with a very small white head that disappeared quite fast. Aromas of roasted malt, walnuts, honey. Taste is a continuation of the aroma with vanilla, caramel, honey, nuts, toasted bread, some fruits. Light body with a short lasting but smooth bittersweet finish. Overall a very decent sweet, malty brew but for a top fermented ale it just lacks body. Clearly produced as a commercial, easy drinkable ale that you can enjoy every day.

In my family many people drink Palm. So I say: drink it together, it’ll taste ever better! This beer is often on offer in crates or six-packs. Somewhat darker than pilsener, and very tasty. You must try this!

Rated from old notes. A light bodied dark ale. Decent. Hints of a sea mist taste.

(330 ml bottle) Aroma: pretty bland in smell. some wet paper and flat maltiness. Appearance: has a soft amber color, quite light and clear, light head that fizzes away quickly. Taste: some malt and grain, sweetness with some hops trying to break through. It’s as if they had a good recipe but watered it down a bit (so flavor-wise, just a bit weak). Palate: smooth, creamy/oily, a touch of hop bitterness on the follow-thru. The beer does seem to go flat quickly. Overall: I had higher expectations from a Belgian beer, so this just came off as an average beer. Definitely better than your average lager. Might make a good every day ale, as it is not too heavy.

From a can at Amsterdam airport. At least found a nice glass to pour it into, clear amber brown colour with a white head. A safe but pleasant ale, caramel malty, not overly bitter but just enough for balance. Not especially yeasty. Ok.

0.25 l on tap at ’Café Hans en Grietje’ in Amsterdam. Clear, pale amber with a large, foamy, white head. Faint, sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey and vanilla. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, honey and vanilla, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Thin to medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Drinkable but not really good.
