JK54B (269), Finland Aug 17, 2008 Draught at Belge. 0.35L 5.2%. White head. Copper brown pale colour. Not special nose. Roasted malt taste. A little bit sour taste. MIld hops. Svesse (1621), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 14, 2008 (Draught at Dovetail, Farringdon, London, 4 Aug 2008) Amber colour with lasting, frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dark fruit, grain, wild berries and yeast. Malty taste with dark fruit, mandarin and yeast. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Solid and quite tasty but hardly exciting. Borresteijn (448), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 14, 2008 This used to be one of my favourite beers, but that was before I knew of all the other good stuff. Amber beer, white head. Aroma of caramel, malts. Flavour is soft caramel, sweet malts, a slight metallic taste, hops. Dry and soft mouthfeel. WISEGUY572 (1099), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 8, 2008 Certainly not my favorite Belgian or my favorite brown ... more of an amber colored light tasting light mouthfeel brew. Beautiful amber with a foamy white head. Saved by an interesting nutty fruity back story that I did not anticipate. spkevin (10), Doetinchem, Netherlands Aug 1, 2008 Updated: Aug 20, 2008330ml bottle and 2 glasses on draft @ paddy’s pub, Doetinchem. This beer has a very good aroma and a nice colour (dark golden). the beer just looks very nice. the taste is ok but it has a strange fiinish/aftertaste. could be better. expected more from this. good replacement for when you don’t want to drink a pale lager/pilsner. maybe going to drink it again.
