PALM Ale has long been one of Europe’s top-selling specialty beers. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, PALM represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.
Sold as Palm outside of Europe.

Serving: 330 ml bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a deep copper color with a small and fleeting white head. Then nose smells like a Budweiser brewed with Belgian yeast. It has a slight beery tang on the tongue with a fair bit malt sweetness and bubblegum. I wouldn’t mind a little bitterness for balance. Light to medium body with average carbonation. Pretty meh.

F: average but stable, off white. C: amber clear. A: malty, caramel, hint of toffee, floral hops, yeasty. T: malty, some caramel and toffee but strange, hint of some bitterness, not refreshing at all, 0,33l can, 5,2% ABV, light to medium body, lower carbo, below average Belgian ale.

11.2%ABV. Poured out of the bottle a dark clear amber. 16şSRM. Nose has beery, laager type aromas. Clean and frankly non-deScript. Mouthfeel is aggressively carbonated. There are clean wheat dough, water biscuit, raw peanut flavors. No hop character at all. There is a mineral roundness to the palate which is remiscent of a sparkling mineral water like Perrier or sparkling San Pelligrino. There is something to be said for doing one thing well and doing it the same way for centuries. The finish is a well balanced, brief and beery. A perfect food-pairing beer. Curry, roast meats, fish. Goes on Favorites List!

Bright golden to amber colour, white head with good lacing.Florall aroma, slightly belgian yeast in the nose. Good carbonation but not a great flavor and unpleasent mouthfeel. Even with volume of just 2,5dcl had a problem to finish a beer.

Bit hazy, amber to copper colored, small to medium off white creamy head with nice lacing. Aroma is fruity shake, banana, some caramel candy, yeast. Taste is medium- sweet caramel candy, again banana fruity shake, bananabread finish, low herbal bitterness. Low to medium bodied, moderate+ carbonation. (on tap, Palm Brewery, Steenhuffel, B)

Amber/brown in colour, short frothy head. Aroma of caramel, bread and brown sugar. Tastes light sweet and light bitter. Light body and thin texture. Watery overall, even a bit stale. Not that special.

Tap @ Cafe Hollander, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Lovely amber pour with creamy beige head that’s very frothy. Tons of thick, sticky lacing on the glass sides. Simply beautiful. But that’s where it ends. This has a weird aroma of burnt brown sugar and koogin. Odd taste of molasses and bad old caramel. Not refreshing, not a good chugger or sipper. After seeing how pretty it is I was disappointed in the strange nose and taste of it. Not enjoyable at all.
