COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
PALM Ale has long been one of Europe’s top-selling specialty beers. Made with English hops, French Barley, and Belgian yeast, PALM represents the best of European beer-making traditions. It’s the roasted Champagne Malt which gives PALM its amber color, but without being heavy. Also available bottle-conditioned as Palm Hergist.
Sold as Palm outside of Europe.

Bottle. The pour was a clear golden copper with a small (less than 1 finger) white foamy head that dissipated quickly and had some fair spotty lacing. The aroma was of a toasted caramel malt, a floral hop and a musty yeast with notes of dried fruit, caramel and banana. The taste was lightly sweet and a bit malty with a mild caramel note from the start and finished with a crisp mild hoppy taste and had a hint of fruitiness at the end. The flavor lasted only a short time with the malty sweet fruity flavor left behind. Mouthfeel was very light in body and a bit watery in texture with a good lively carbonation. Overall a pretty generic Amber Ale with a great drinkability...

Slightly dusty, but sweet nose with a lovely caramel color. Great head; like a sponge. Light toasted malt flavor, but a little buttery. Slight dryness at the end, but overall more on the sweet side. Creamy mouth feel and an OK balance.

Pours a solid gold with a thin eggshell cap that settles to a ring and leaves some soapy, hanging lace. Nose involves some light citrus notes and some noble hop spice with a touch of doughy yeast. Lightly sweet, a bit tart, fairly bitter. Lighter bodied, a bit watery, a touch grainy, finishing lightly tart and somewhat dry. Really, not bad, pretty refreshing, and somewhat resembling a pilsner or helles lager.

330ml bottle from Carrefour, Xintiandi, Changchun. Pours golden with a thin white head. Strange aroma, citrussy lime.A little bitterness in the taste. For a 5.2% beer this is decidedly watery. Belgium can do a lot better.

Draught. Pours a clear amber color with a very small white head on there. Nose is a little sweet and definitely fruity, with a bit of banana in there if you push hard enough. Tase is slightly sweet and a bit earthy actually, and almost drinks like a flat champagne. Interesting...

Light amber with small head that fades out very quickly. Thin feeling with not much going for it other than the caramel flavor and smell. While it is not a bad brew there is nothing great about it. A couple days ago I tried the new Busch Signature. This beer has simular qualities.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a clear amber with white head. Aroma is fairly mild. Some biscuit, bread, caramel and spices. Taste is smooth and crisp with moderate sweetness and mild bitterness. Pretty well balanced. Flavors of caramel, biscuits and grains. Pretty drinkable. Light to medium bodied. Overall not the best belgian beer but still much better than most macros. Good for a session beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11.2 bottle. Clear Amber pour with spoty lacing. Good blend of malts and Continental hops. Mild honey sweetness mixed with a fruity bitterness. Slight dry finish. Very easy to drink. I have to give this a extra point for sentimental value, 20 years ago it was my first beer in Europe.
