NikkTwist (1668) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 27, 2014
Bottle at Fado in Philadelphia as part of a World Cup selection. Clear heavy gold pour. Started with a fizzy white head that left lots of runny lace. Aroma is a bit off, but tastes fuller than expected. Toasted corn meal. Buttered bread. Pineapple cores. Plantains. Sugar cane. Lemongrass. Not fantastic, but not as bad as all that.

maekchu (2200) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JUN 26, 2014
Bottle from Yamaya, one of their World Cup 2014 beers. Thin, earthy, grainy nose, with a bushel of corn. Very light strae color. Crude grainy initial / very minimal hopping pops up in mid palate / light sweet finish, with a touch of antiseptic in final. Thin body. Dull stuff. Near the low end, even for pale lagers.

Beerheart65 (1001) - Pori, FINLAND - JUN 26, 2014
Clear pale yelloe, sparkling mildly, thin layer of lacing on top. Corn, bit hay, grain, mild aroma. Bit watery light feel, sweetish, low carbonation, corn lasting medium long in finish. Dilited and dull.

@ Röhällavägen. Bottle (355 ml) from Systembolaget (14:-). Malty with notes of hay and grain, sweet with very little bitterness, light body and a quite watery texture. The finish is somewhat dry and malty. Boring.

Flaska från systembolaget. Blek gul vätska med lätt skum. Svagt brödig doft. Väldigt vattnig smak med någon obehaglig sötma i bakgrunden. Väldigt neutral i munnen. Känns som en utspädd lättöl

Idiosynkrasie (3920) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUN 10, 2014
355ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Flat pale malty and minimally grainy aroma, cautious bitter hoppy overtones. Taste is minimally sweet pale malty, mild bitter hoppy overtones, a minimally grassy touch, cautious hints of lemon. Not bad considering style and provenance.

kwik-lime (1341) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2014
Bottle in Waitrose, Cavendish Square, because of the World Cup. Bit soapy, low on hop, some sweetness. Not totally unpleasant but very unsatisfying too.

Sampled from bottle at Edmonton Craft Beer Fest ’14. Clear yellow with a thin white cap. Sweet nose, grainy, some lemon. Taste has sweet grains and lemon notes. Probably not something I would drink again, though it is better than most domestic pale lagers. Tick.
