Pours mahogany with a creamy head. Bit of fruit in the aroma and a bitter taste with a bit of sweetness.

Cask (gravity pour) at Backwell Village Club, Bristol. Bronze with medium off white head. Malty aromas with nutty caramel to the fore and light floral hops. Flavour similar to the nose with a decent hop bitterness. Smooth quaffable palate with low carbonation. A fine ESB.

A delicious, flavoursome beer that is almost too easy to drink. Great mahogony colour. I will always give top marks to a beer that I would drink again and again and highly recommend. A desert island pub must for me.

Cask; brown with golden tints; thin creamy slightly off white head; taste is sweetish, thick, chewy malt, caramel, ripe woody hedgerow fruit; some ripe lemony notes; earthy hops give background balance; malts predominate in the finish; quite moreish; a good, full flavoured, malty special bitter.

Mid-brown bitter ale and perhaps a little sweet for some. Not much hop flavours in evidence and even less aroma but it has a nice palate and is perfectly drinkable without over-taxing the tastebuds. Not in the Premier League but decent enough.

Cask at the Who’dhavethoughtit, Glastonbury, 5th June 2011. Hazy copper with a line of head. Taste of stewed malt & toffee, cold tea. Again, a dull beer! Not as sweet as the Dorset Gold but the only sign of hops is a hint of balance and a tightening of the tongue. Nose has hints of band-aid and plaster dust. Sweet finish.

From cask/gravity at the cosy & tiny Newport Ale House, Isle of Wight 24 Jan 14. Dark golden. No foam. The aroma is peaches with some cowstable. The flavor is sweet fruit with some almond. OK - but a bit boring.

Cask at the Harp. Pours a clear amber colour. Aroma is rich, sweet malt loaf. Medium body. It's fruit cake - nutmeg, a little dark sugar and plums. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
