Clear medium to dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark fruits - raisin, prune. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. (070808)

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A red-brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and over ripe fruit, but also hints of sulphur. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of prunes and over ripe fruit, leading to a roasted bitter end.

Cask@GBBF2008. Deep brown colour, small brown head. Not really much of an aroma, mainly dark fruits and some earth. Flavour is mainly dry grass, dark fruits and some sour wood along with herbal notes.

Cask @ Lamb & Flag, Oxford. Pours a dark amber color with an off-white head. Fruity malty dark fruit aroma. Sweet malty fruity dark fruit flavor. Roasted malty dark fruit finish.

Bree Louise. Cask. Clear deep amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, very slightly soft. Very mild carbonation. Sweetish malts, a little raw but mostly toffee - caramel. Tangy fruits and light chocolate powder. Little plum. Light dry finish. Tasty but a bit flat.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Deep ruby colour with lasting beige head. Spicy deep dark fruits on aroma. Some diacetyl, empty boiled sweet malt in mouth. Aroma isn’t great cos of too mcuh butter, in fact not great overall.

Gravity cask at the Bree - London. Dark brown pour with a filmy tan head. Good beer, some maple syrup, cocoa, dark toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Lightly sticky sweet to finish with rich bread, syrupy chocolate, cake, dark fruits. Very nice.

Cask Conditioned at The Anchor, Seatown, Dorset. Deep chestnut colour with tan head. This is a heady alcohol licorice flavoured beer with a fruity warm mouthfeel. A sipping beer to be savoured.
