3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 2, 2005 Another great offering from Palmetto. So easy to drink, with so many complex undertones. The malts here are top notch for an amber. My g.f. really loves this stuff.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2016 Pours a clear golden brown from the bottle with fluffy off-white head that dissipates slowly to leave good lace. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and earthy nut notes. Taste follows, minimal yeast esters, slightly bitter finish. Decent for the style, but just a bit off.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour from a 12oz bottle. Darker amber brew with pale tan head. Aroma of lightly toasted malt, sour fruity hops. Taste is sweet malt up front, nutty , lightly toasted, modest sour tart fruit emerging in the finish. Toasted malt and sweet notes are consistent. Solid amber ale.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured into a snifter.
2.75 A: Mildly hazed orange amber color. Less than one finger of frothy beige head. Retention is below average and just a few wisps of lacing are left.
3.0 S: Sweet caramel and graininess. Not quite clean as there’s some breadiness in there. Light mineral component. It’s okay, but it needs more malt in there.
3.25 T: Like the nose, lots of caramel and graininess. Bready base with hints of mineral. Mild bitterness. Grassy hops. Better than the taste, but still mediocre.
3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lightly creamy and smooth.
3.25 D: It’s okay, but nothing I would pick up again.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep copper with barely any head. Some malty aromas in the nose but faint. Flavor is filled with malty sweetness and it lingers in the aftertaste. Not bad, one of the better offerings from Palmetto.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Palmetto, May 2015. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (apricot, orange), with notes of diacetyl and toffee. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Has potential to be quite nice but this batch was partly ruined by diacetyl.
