Commercial Description:
The gold-colored Palmetto Charleston Lager is perhaps the company’s cleverest creation; it’s strong in flavor, crisp, with a fresh, clean finish (i.e., no lingering aftertaste), but light enough so you could drink it just about all day. Yeast and a cool fermentation are what make a lager a lager, and Palmetto’s is among the smoothest, mellowest around.

Pours gold with a white head. Smells skunky and sweet with some grapey hints. Tastes of hay, sweet malt, crisp, some earthy hints.

Bottle from Matty. Poured a clear gold color. The head was two fingers high and white with decent retention. Smelled of light grassy hops, white bread, pale malt, and subdued yeasty bread dough. Light bodied and delicately sweet with mild bitterness at the end. The flavors were fairly predictable for this standard lager; Pale malt, grassy hop, and a touch of honey. Not unpleasant.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. The aroma was grainy with a hint of cardboard. The flavor was grainy, corn, mild sweetness, and a slight bitterness in the finish. A bit watery and thin. I’ll pass on this in the future.

This was served to me in the Budweiser signature glass, and perhaps if I wasn’t paying attention I might have mistaken it as such.... This is a fairly plain lager golden and translucent, pours with a tight head that eventually disappears. It is crisp and refreshing the taste is slightly more complex than that of a typical American lager, somewhere between Spaten and Budweiser... Not too bad, but not overwhelmingly great.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium white head. Aroma of grain, caramel and lemon. Taste is much the same. Light and easy to drink but without a lot of character. Has a light malty semi sweet finish without much hop influence.
