The aroma is chocolate cookie dusting. Hazelnut and coffee grounds. Sweet caramel.
The appearance is glassy reddish-brown. Thin-bodied, not too substantial.
The flavor is like when coffee grounds fall into the mug. A little nutty, but with a sweet toffee undertone. It’s sweet with some cold coffee elements.
The palate is buttery and oily. Similar to a brown ale. Drinkable but much sweeter than expected. Iced coffee.

Man this is a very watery beer, all you taste is burnt roasted coffee. The coffee is pretty tasty but there is no more flavors going on

Palmetto makes a tasty coffee porter, a beer I find quite underrated in its home town. Espresso Porter strikes a solid balance between English porter and coffee, neither sweet and fruity nor acidic and burnt-tasting. A little more body would bolster the beer, but other than that, there’s not much to complain about. Plus, this beer makes a perfect way to start someone’s transition from coffee-drinker to dark beer-drinker.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle, thanks to Steve! Pours a thin black with a tan head that settles to a clear pour with no lacing. Caramel, coffee, and chocolate on the nose, very thin-bodied but cloying, dry on the finish with some sweetness. A simple coffee porter, not bad but not something I would search out for.

A dark reddish brown porter with a thick moka head. In aroma, loads of coffee grinds over caramel malts. In mouth, a smooth coffeee porter with nice herbal hops, coffee grinds, quite nice. On tap at Brewvival, Feb. 26 2011.

Bottled. Pours with a soda-like head that quickly fizzles out. Clammy, soggy old coffee aroma, mixed with some milk and stuff. Decently full body, still a little soggy, decent coffee notes and a little roast.
