KariCupcake (214), Lenox, Massachusetts, USA Jul 6, 2005 Coppery brown/golden color. Smells good and has a smooth taste. I like it. The aftertaste lingers and it tastes better than the first taste. ericnixon (719), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA Jul 5, 2005 Nice copper color and a nice malty aroma. Clean, malty taste with a quick burst of malty in the aftertaste with a mild lingering bitter aftertaste. BennyTicklez (621), USA Jun 10, 2005 Pours dark golden with a nice white head. Lots of carbonation. Earthy aroma. NIcely hoped and decent malt. A well made pale ale, but nothing too spectacular. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Mar 28, 2005 Bottle pours translucent golden, small white frothy head, spotty lacing, with mild carbonation. Grain/cereal nose, not much hop in there. Dirty up front, quite grainy, blech. Body and mouthfeel are medium, bordering on the watery side. At least if its not going to be very hoppy, it does have a nice malt backbone. Finish is a bit astringent.   Only a mild bitterness on the tip of the tongue exists.   NEXT!
MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Nov 22, 2004 Copper-orange. Nose generically hoppy, flavor similarly so, a not particularly pleasant lightly sweet and astringent finish. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Nov 22, 2004 2004 bottle @ the gathering. Deep yellow-gold, mostly clear, small white head. Aroma of metal, hay, floral hops, sour yeast. Flavor is metallic and hoppy, very flowery and bitter, with no malt to speak of and then a watery death for the finish. Medium-light body, over-carbonated. Can’t find much use in drinking this. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Nov 21, 2004 Hazy amber body with minimal white head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, toffee, grapefruit. Watery light-medium body. Not sure what others see in this beer, but this one did not appeal to me at all. hopscotch (5441), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Aug 18, 2004 Deep amber ale with a small, wispy, off-white head. The nose is of sweat, jalapeno or habenero pepper and earth. The flavor is moderately bitter with a strong hop bite. Grass and straw or hay. Medium-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Lengthy, bitter finish. This beer is just too bitter without any sense of purpose or complexity. Hopped up solely for the sake of being hopped up.
